1 tractor rest of forever -- what brand?

If keeping it forever, why would resale even be a consideration? I'd pick one that would never need an emissions or ECU repair. Those can be 25% of the value of the tractor new. They also have enough electronics to make a dealer tool to read fault codes, a necessity. Currently I'm looking...

I actually like some battery equipment. I just bought a new FlowZone Typhoon for lawn treatments. It'll pump 100 gallons on a charge, capable of up to 115psi. I can walk a typical residential lawn in under 10 minutes with it. Easily 10+ lawns on a charge. On two batteries I can do a full...

If I had a small lawn, I'd consider one. Less hassle for sure. However one consideration is still battery replacement over time. In 5-10 years am I buying $3000 worth of batteries? Are those batteries still available? Or is the mower now a throw away? Battery tech moves so fast, Id worry...

That is a fact. Farmed, fed and chemically treated bees don't seem to carry the genetics it takes to be prolific, without a lot of human intervention. That describes 99% of the colonies being "kept". I've found the less hard I work at keeping them alive, the more colonies survive.

Never said a hydro gear transaxle won’t spin tires on grass. There is a design reason commercial mowers use dedicated pump motors on each wheel, and not transaxles. Transaxles are more cost effective and more compact. Larger commercial mowers benefit from the dedicated pump units. Back to...

Who is excited for snow season? Not us! We're depressed due to lack of snow.

It is a place for bee swarms to take up camp, so I can bring them to my apiary.

It's an IronCraft. I've run 6 acres of dirt through it in 12 months and it's been solid. Broke open an acre of virgin clay sod with it. Very heavy, solid. It's the UM-72 model

400 pounds of fertilizer down. 40 gallons of pre emergent. Field tilled. And swarm traps up. We are WAY ahead this year

    YT359c top link!

I did the same.. I did need hydraulic restrictors to slow the cylinder and stop the chatter when there is a heavy load on the top link as it extends. Seems pretty common.

First use of the 4820! Tilling.

Well I tilled an acre last week using 540E, topped it off today, and it burned about 1.1gal/hr Not bad! Everything on the unit is working as advertised. The bolts were marked at the dealer, and they are all still snug. No error codes yet! Oh, wait, we dont have computers 🤣

Buying Advice First tractor for small family farm. Branson or something else?

I spent my childhood years on open station Farmalls. We bought the cabbed 5088 when I was 16. As a kid, I loved the cabbed tractor, I felt like one of those wealthy farmers, and listening to music was easier. When I bought my own tractor, I chose an open station due to tree lines along my...

Make a couple passes, and the shoes will continue to sink in the soft soil… you’ll get 8” deep likely. For this reason I don’t set my shoes very deep. I like to make a couple passes anyway.

I’d say “service” is dealer specific and not brand. A gentleman just posted last week that his local JD dealership won’t look at his new unit under warranty because he bought it at another dealership. My local TYM dealer ordered the tractor, delivered it and received not a dime until I wrote...

How heavy will this mower be? On our ground, one reason I don't even have a flail mower for the fields, is that most of the year the clay loam is so soft, Id destroy it. I'm better off with the ATV and trail mower setup. This to say a subcompact with a backhoe and mower sounds like a lot for...

    TC45DA Hydraulic Filter?

I learned recently from some dealer support folks that on my unit, a cross reference is a bad idea. Workmaster 33 won't run

Yeah, probably can't. The selling point for me to buy a TYM/Branson, was the lack of computers and sensors. It's a mechanical tractor. They are the only ones left. Everything else is CRDI and run by an expensive ECM

That was one thing I ran into when looking at Kioti. They had a lot of already faded paint and rust on the lot. This during the Covid buying blitz? The other dealers had tractors on the lots that looked new... They all sat outside? Anyhow, great buy, enjoy the unit.
