Don’t Buy A Farm Unless You Understand A few Things

$200 per acre for fungicide and fertilizer? Closer to $2000. One bottle of Regalia is close to $200. Strawberry wine is sold out on farms in this state. And yes there are quite a few vintners in Florida. Vacuum evaporation, no I don’t think so. Large families do have a labor advantage...

Basically if God wants you to be a success you will and if he doesn’t you won’t. We spent $350k building the “farm”. And made $14k in sales this month (month #13 of farming) This was made breeding dogs . There are ten thousand ways to make money when you have the room. I don’t accept the idea...

Protection from or Deterrants for Deer?

I’m kinda a new farmer but we have 3 roaming dogs that bark all night long and don’t have too many problems. Currently have 1 acre of strawberries fruiting and have some small animal damage on there outskirts only. I like a dog that chases everything

JD 310E dipper cylinder quit working

Is there a way to see if the cylinder is getting pressure without a gauge? I think it might be a failure of something in the cylinder from other internet searches. Thanks

JD 310E dipper cylinder quit working

Used it to get out of the mud, and the dipper operation ceased to work, almost no sound when moving the control stick, no leaks, control linkage looks good. What going on

Kubota L3130 front 4wd differential is leaking...do you have to remove the whole axle

I replaced it twice (second time had a friend who is a diesel mechanic do it for me) it still leaked. I sold it for a bargain, that tractor had been in a fire and was my first. I abused it and neglected too many little things. Bought a brand new L3901. Pretty nice.

    John Deere backhoe repair

I left it sit for a month and it doesn’t leak any where near as bad as it did before, probably due to heat and heavy use. the mechanics I talk to say that the thing that was welded is a relief valve and o might not be such a brilliant idea to weld it again. there are no new ones available and...

Brand new KIOTI dead on arrival

I did that before buying a Kioti, ok, since it’s such a mystery, allow me to demystify. Tractorbynet sends out forum emails in order to get more interest to the site. I would imagine this is a hot topic that generates a lot of interest, since people pretty much hate corporate giants taking...

Brand new KIOTI dead on arrival

Keep track of everything meticulously, you could have a lemon law case and demand a new tractor. Makes me gladder that I paid more for a Kubota hearing this though, thanks

    John Deere backhoe repair

1998 John Deere 310e. Someone welded this valve in the past and it’s leaking on the bottom. I wonder if it can be welded again? It costs like $3k I’m sure.

Reaming out holes in thick steel?

The bits we use are called “nitro” drill bits and they will chew through that steel like butter. A 7/8” is probably $15. Black and gold in color. Get them at a specialty fastener place.

Kubota L3130 front 4wd differential is leaking...do you have to remove the whole axle

It's leaking at the seal where the drive shaft goes into the differential. I see how to take the shaft out (pinned couplers) that's easy. but it surely appears that the whole axle has to come off to get to the seal. The repair manual is clear as mud. Thanks for any help.
