    Plowing Mishap

My guess is that he used a rigid top link instead of a chain and / or disabled the trip springs. Something had to give, so maybe.... I us a former Western truck plow without any problems. If I snag an edge of a rock, it trips or bounces upwards. The chain acts as a 1 way float. I have also...

    R.O.W. Problem

There probably will soon be a vehicle crash that involves the fence and roadway maintenance. At that time, it will be fair to ask: Who was at fault, who was to blame for the roadway incursion, who will pay, and who will get away with it ? If it's not a private road, the the local Road...

Tractor classification — HP vs torque

I'd say horsepower is more important for farming. Torque is the rate of change of horsepower. So, in a car, higher torque gets you a better 0-60 time. Horsepower establishes your top speed. For the same horsepower at the max speed, the higher torque gets you there faster. (Not the best...

What size earth auger bit do you use for a 4x4 fence post?

I see presumptions here that the goal is a long lasting pole that doesn't rot away. Around here, you can repair a fence with 6" posts and the next day a 12pt buck will charge thru the fence and break posts just because you blocked his path. So, I install posts with quick change in mind. My...

PTO issues / post driver issues?

Presuming the driver raising cylinder is a 1-way deal, I'd suspect air is leaking into the line & you have to blow it thru before it will take a load. Somehow, the oil might be leaking back into the PT via a bad internal seal, valve, or port.
