Flail Vs Finish Mower for Mulching Leaves?

Per K5lwq's request, here are photos of the belting I installed on the tailgate of a NH 918h. Belting is 7" wide used round baler belting which should be available from any round baler dealer. I just bolted it to the tailgate and trimmed the sides. I do not have any before and after leaf...

    TZ18DA info request

Non-NH dealer allowed me to test drive a TZ18DA over the weekend. How does one check the transmission fluid level as there is no apparent dipstick to the tranny. Also, perhaps someone is familiar with the PTO clutch recall and whether it applied to the early TZ18DA models under HB20001 serial...

Boomer mid 2000 PTO shaft size, etc. info needed

These are photos of my TC 33D and I am assuming yours has the same shaft. A 1" shaft with 15 splines. Those drive shafts are common on the midmount decks, front mount snow blowers and even NH's front deck mowers.

    TC35 Tachometer Failure

I attached a couple of photos of the back of my alternator, hopefully adequate enough to give you an idea where the green wire plugs into it. Yours may be the case that the alternator has been replaced with a generic unit with no tach provision. Check to see if the mounting bolts have been...

Anyone own a LandPride rake (or similar) with drop down blade? Need help.

On mine, the blade drops about an inch below the tines. The gage wheels are in the lowest position and I use a chain top link that allows me to pivot the blade height with the 3 pt. In stead of the chain, you could unhook the top link and try it that way.

My new transfer tank set up

Ok, I'll admit this is not in the $8 investment group, but I have got to show it off and it meets the thread title. Tired of lifting 5 & 6 gallon jugs to refuel the airplane (esp. wing tank) with non-ethanol car gas. Considered a stationary tank but delivery charges were outrageous. Wanted an...

Landscape rake or rear blade for gravel driveway?

Since Coolbrze did not mention what implements he had available, I concur with Thomas and would suggest a combo- rake/blade. My typical maintenance involves using the blade to pull edge gravel to the center, 2 passes each way. Then with the blade at 90 degrees, grade the center pile to both...

Need 'Break-Away Kickstand' ideas for landscape rake

This is a travel trailer leveling jack I picked up at a supply house. Effective length is 16" to 23". It is notched in both the up and down position, but by grinding the down notch away (yellow tape), it would swing when moved. The top end of the long spring would have to be moved slightly to...

Flail Mower Let's talk flail mowers

Did one side of my 918 last year at this time. The bearing box from Motion Industries displays part # 1207 ENT9. That and the seal are in SKF boxes. The seal is labeled 35X62X7 HMSA10. That bearing comes basically dry and when I put it back together, I pulled the zerk and squeezed in some 00...

CASE DX33 Farmall (TC33DA) grill guard dimentions

Sorry for the delay in response, been farming this week. Here are some photos and hope they help you out. Another option is to Google the part number and you should get some hits on dealers who have that part in stock. Give them and call and they may be willing to make you a deal on the old...

3 point tree shovel for digging?

Came across this on CL and brought it home. It was set up similar to the orange one in mikehaugen's post with an approximate 90 degree angle and additional brackets to support the angle. The seller thought it had been mounted on a front loader and he remembered breaking the single top cylinder...

    Another pto/hydraulic cement mixer conversion

Bought this mixer from an older gentleman in the neighborhood last fall. He had bought it new, but never used it, due to a heart issue, so it sat. I tried it on my TC33D, but found I would have to cut to pto shaft down to nothing to make it work (?) and then it would not work on another tractor...

    TC25D - Fuse #5 Blowing

Here is the wiring diagram for your TC 33. I had the same issue that started for no apparent reason. Retracing my steps prior to the repeatedly blowing the 30 amp fuse, I found I had removed the ignition key and reinserted it upside down and that is when the problem began. I now have it marked...

Which to buy, 10' tandem or 8' tandem?

Right on bdog. Hopefully the attached diagram will demonstrate the movements needed to accomplish squeezing the disc through the gate. Looks easy on paper but, typically involves a lot of shifting, clutch riding, lock to lock steering, brake riding and cursing. Now, imagine using a 1964 model...

    tc 29d steps

Bought my TC 33D used and did not want the mmm, and asked about a step. The Parts man showed the original equipment step and instant sticker shock set in. He then brought out this step and I walked out the door $15 lighter. It was actually longer and I cut it down with the appropriate angle and...

Snow Equipment Owning/Operating Snow blowing set up for gravel road

I bought this blower as an incomplete front mount and converted it to a 3 pt mount to use on my previous tractor. I put the wheels on it for my gravel driveway and they work very well for straight line work. I made them adjustable but it was much simpler to adjust the top link to vary the...

    Tc29d hydraulic problem

Glad to have you onboard Mark and welcome to TBN. My operators manual has the solution to your problem along with the step by step instructions. 3 Point cable plow?

Bolted this together one afternoon. Started with a shank from the box/blade, a Cat 1 3 point drawbar and a piece of channel iron or C channel which was not long enough. So I had to add the top pieces of angle iron to make it tall enough. Flat steel to make the shoe and some plastic pulleys for...

Gravel and Dirt Work - Which implement?

We bought this LandPride combination rake and blade to do yard finishing originally. As it ends up, we like it better for maintaining the gravel drives and finish grading. The blade swings down and has removable end plates, similar to a box blade. I cobbled the chain top link to allow finishing...

    tc33d pto will not disengage

Ok, it sounds like we are dealing with a TC 33 which has the 9X3 manual gear transmission. This tractor has a 2 position clutch, depressing the clutch half way should stop forward motion and depressing all the way, disengages the pto (s). There is the possibilty that the linkage from the pedal...
