What can I spray in the woods to control unwanted growth but not harm trees?

We use our property for hunting too and mowing/bush hogging trails worked great in the thick areas and the perimeter and as i just mentioned, goats are also fantastic. i walk my property all the time on the trails and the deer use them, too!

What can I spray in the woods to control unwanted growth but not harm trees?

That may or may not be a option with burn bans and it depends in the type of forest. under pines will burn like mad but oak hammocks won’t. but it’s worth asking.

What can I spray in the woods to control unwanted growth but not harm trees?

Goats! They are the best thing for this sort of situation. Mowing is probably not doable with all the other stuff like stumps, branches, etc. You can rent or buy them. if you buy, try to get Kikos. they are very parasite resistant. if you have a lot if brush you don’t need to feed them other...

    Deere 5205 won’t start

Hi, my Deere 5205 tractor won’t start. The battery is charged and all the lights come on. No noise when I turn the key. It’s not in gear and the PTO is not engaged and we banged on the starter. I read somewhere it could be the grounding wire, starter selenoid or the starter. Someone told me they...

Pictures of freeing stuck equipment with your tractor

Just curious, but what were you mowing? Those yellow blooms look awesome.

To till or not to till 😁

I’d suggest asking your Ag Extension office - they are super helpful. Here is a link to the Marion County office: Marion County - University of Florida, Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences - UF/IFAS

    Question about using a stabilizer?

I add it after but if I planned better, I’d take it with me to the gas station and add it there. Now that you mentioned it, I’m going to keep a bottle in my truck. 😃

    Tractor setting areas on fire?

I’ve been mowing and seen sparks fly from hitting a piece of field fence or barbed wire on the ground. If it’s dry enough, it could definitely start a grass fire. Not to mention if it’s big enough, it could wrap around the mower. Ask me how I know this. Lol.

    58 MPG by 2032

Good grief people. Some of you don’t know the difference between MPH and MPG! BTW, there are already hybrids that get 58 MPG. Prius and ioniq are 2.

    Brush hog accident(s)

“Running with the bucket low-ish and tilted up is a better solution than blade straight and level.” Why is that way better? Seems like in either case you could get tossed off the tractor. I’ve stood up now and then but I’ll think twice about it.

    Brush hog accident(s)

How do chains keep things from flying around? I’ve read about rocks shooting thru the mower decks, so, how would chains stop a rock? Or anything?

    Rollover paranoia

I don't think you are being paranoid. Caution is a good thing on a tractor. I've had some close calls and I don’t want to wind up on the front page of the local paper “Area farmer dies in tractor roll-over.” No thanks. I wear my seatbelt in most cases even though it's mostly flat land. But I...

    Removing poly twine from fields

What about using a root rake on the front of your tractor? I’ve pulled buried wire fence out of the ground using mine among the zillion other things it is handy for. Good luck!

    Cigarette Lighter

My Deere has a factory plug on backside that I guess I could plug a charger in to, but I just keep a little power pack charged up and plug my phone in if it needs a charge when I'm working outside. Fits in my pocket. Easy peasy.

12x16 Shed Sitting on Blocks Needs Attention

Hi, I had 2 thoughts when I read this. First, email “Ask This Old House“ and see if they can help you. But more practically, second, if nobody has mentioned this, before you work on the floor, not only do you need to remove the weight from on the inside floor but more importantly you need to try...
