I agree with you. Property taxes have never been a favorite of mine — paying forever regardless of income. Schools take most of our property tax monies. Yet, my kids went to private schools. Lots and lots of kids in STL go to private schools.

The NCAA says “less than 2% of college athletes make it to the pros”. Logic would say college athletes should be working toward a career outside of sports. But - my guess - is more than 2% of kids believe they will be a pro and concentrate more on athletics than school. To their future detriment.

I was convinced thru high school I would play shortstop for the St Louis Cardinals. My parents never dampened that dream. However, in the meantime, I was expected to get good grades, work at a part time job and figure out a career just in case.

This is so true. The guy who farms our land also has beef grazing on his property that he processes and sells. Maybe it’s only psychological, but his beef seems to taste so much better than anything at stores. Price is also significantly less.
