    3550 cab vs 2555 cab

Dealer does not have a 3550 in stock. Is the cab that much nicer than the 2555? I think the 3550 is too wide and heavy for my needs or at least I am convincing myself of that. Thanks guys. I can always look to you guys for info I cannot find elsewhere.

    Price for cabbed 2555 hst

Looking for a cash price. I may sell my 2538 or at least would like to know what I need to get out of it to better my deal. My dealer wants 17200 plus my 2538 with 200 hours. He is giving me 16500 for it. I may be able to sell it and lower the selling price of the 2555 hopefully. Thanks guys.

How many of you guys wish you did not purchase a cabbed tractor?

The thought is there to trade my open station for a cabbed tractor. I do stone driveways and some tilling and some snow blowing and some lawn installation and you get the idea. I am wondering if I really want to trade. I think I do but looking to see if anyone had regrets.

Lever works hard for 3 pt hitch on 2538

Seem like the lever for my 3 point hitch is working harder than is use to. I have oiled everything I can see that moves. I see no grease fitting with these old eyes. I would imagine there is a nut that sets the tension on the lever? Is there a grease fitting I am not seeing? Thanks

Got the trade diff today on my 2538 going to a 2555.

Was at my dealer today getting cruise put on my 2538 and asked for a price trading in a non cab 2538 toward a cabbed 2555. Diff. was 17200. That is giving me 16500 for my tractor. I is about the ball park I figured and I will not be doing it but just letting folks know what I got for a price.

    Dreaming of trading in 2538

I got hit in the head pretty good this week doing some work in the woods. Never saw the branch coming. I now have a wild hair that thinks I may need a tractor with a cab. I think a cab would hinder me at times but I do think safety could be better with one. I have researched the 2555 and the...

    2538 vs shuttle power

Yesterday I was working my 2538 pretty hard pulling out some of the toughest brush ever. I was lifting with a chain on the bucket lifting all it could lift. I had my box blade on and loaded tires. The tractor could not spin. I ran out of power. I would think this is pretty normal. My question is...

Question for you guy with tillers

This is the area I am doing. Hopefully it dries out a bit from the storm we got right before some of these pics. No lie I have been over this 10 times to get it to look like that and I am not happy with the look. I am pretty sure a good tiller will run through this grass. I am thinking a tiller...

Question for you guy with tillers

I moved into a 4 acre parcel today that an older lady wants cleared and seeded. Trees have been removed but some remains are still there. Grass has grown upward of a foot and thick in spots. I am wondering how a tiller will do in this type of condition. My box blade and york rake are very slow...

    2538 skips after idling

Been blowing a lot of snow yesterday and today and when I let the tractor cool down and walk away for a few minutes leaving the tractor running it wants to skip when starting back to blowing. It will blow smoke and skip for probably 20-30 seconds. Fresh fuel with additive above freezing. No...

Does a snowblower really need two shear pins?

My Landpride 1064 snowblower has a pin in the driveline after the gearbox and one on the pto shaft. I have to replace the pto shaft and wondering if I really need to get a shaft with a shear pin? Much tougher to find locally. I have broken the other shear pin before but never the one on the pto...

Shopping pto shafts. How much overkill do I need?

Looking at pto shafts for my landpride 64 inch snowblower. I have a Mahindra 2538 with 32 pto hp. Looks like I can find many shafts with a tier rating of 4 that can handle 38 or so hp. I have also seen the tier 5 which is very heavy and more money. Now this is not a continuous operating type of...

Looking at used John Deere 25A flail mower.

Local auction has a used John Deere 25A flail mower in it. Took a very quick peek at it today but was raining a monsoon. Looks like all the knives were in very good shape. Place selling it says they have used it to mow around the buildings there for a while and it works fine. It has some age to...

Looking to test my 2538 hydraulic pressure.

My 2538 seems to lift very well but after reading everyone test hydraulic pressure I am thinking maybe I want to get in on it. What if it does not lift all that it could? Seems strong. Anyone know what coupler this thing takes. The local runnings store has the gauge just need to put it together...

Looking at attachments to hire out with? Flail, brush hog, tiller? Which one.

Hope to pick up an attachment new or used during the winter months to hire out with in the spring. I really like the thought of the flail mower but speed concerns me. The brush hog mower is much more readily available around here and used much more. The tiller looks like something I could use...

    Snowblower for Simplicity Legacy XL

My neighbor has a 2005 Simplicity XL Legacy small tractor. Nice little tractor. He is looking for a blower for it. He said a local dealer told him Simplicity only. This is a shaft drive blower. The blower is 3k with no used ones around here. Anyone know of any other blowers that fit it?

    Finish mower vs brush hog?

Always looking for implements that I can make money with. I have a chance to purchase a used bush hog rd6 in nice shape for 800. I have read it can mow a sapling of one inch. I always keep an eye open for a brush hog but nothing so far. Which one would get the most use for hiring out? I have...

Anyone use a Mahindra (Kodiak) tiller?

Looking at a 72 inch and wondering how you like yours?
  22. S

Mahindra (Kodiak) tiller or King Kutter

I have my search for a 72 inch tiller narrowed down to the Mahindra or the King Kutter. I would like to only discuss these two as my pic will be one of them. We all know the King Kutter. I can get it for 1899 local. The Mahindra (Kodiak) is at my Mahindra dealer. His price is 2399 with no...

2538 ecu reflash and changing over to synthetic?

Stopped at my dealer today and picked up an oil filter and was surprised to find he did not carry synthetic oil for the engine. I bought the filter and intend to switch over to Rotella. While I was there he told me of a reflash for my tractor. Said it does a few things and may add a small amount...

    82 inch tiller..32 pto hp

This Sat. there is an auction with two new 82 inch gear drive tillers. Cannot tell the brand but look orange. That is all I know. I think 82 inch is too big for my 2538 so at this point I see no need for me to go to the auction. What do you guys think?

Priced out my first york rake job today...

Got my tractor about a month ago and have been advertising to see if I could make a few bucks on the side with it. Why not? Finally got a call and went and looked at the project. Not very big and had recently been cleared. I figure I could be done in an hour. The drive is 45 minutes each way. I...

Trailers. Sur-Trac, Cross Country, Bri Mar, PJ?

Looking at 5k 20' Equipment trailers with a top rail and hd rear gate. So far the Sur-Trac looks like the best fit and finish. I do not like the cross members on 24" but all dealers are telling me that it is just me. The Cross Country is very nice with cross members on 16" but does not look like...

Tractor weights compared to weight in specs

Going out looking at trailers in the next few days. I am pretty sure a 7k is borderline but hoping it will work. I have a new Mahindra 2538 which has a spec weight of around 32-3300 pounds. I have a 1000 pound loader on it and about 800 pounds in the rear tires. Anyone ever weigh a tractor to...

Can my 2538 lift a ton of pellets with it's 3 point hitch?

Looking into a set of rear pallet forks to move my pellets around but want to know if anyone has a 2538 that has actually lifted a ton on a pallet. I know the ratings but want to be sure before I buy forks that would only be used for that to find out it cannot do it. Thanks guys.

Moving a ton of pellets with my 3 point hitch

Have a new 2538 with forks for the front. Tractor is not rated to lift a ton and it cannot. The back is rated to be able to so I am thinking about a set of rear forks for it. Any recommendations that can lift a ton? Put a quick hitch type setup on and use my front forks? More money for the quick...

    Loving my new 2538.

Tractor does everything I hoped it would. I have 25 hours on already and no real complaints. Tractor is a work horse for me. Do the 2538 run a bit rough?

Loving my new 2538 but when moving and doing very little the tractor seems like it is hitting the governor on and off. It sounds great at first but after a while makes me wonder if they all do this? Kind of like running pretty fast across a hay lot and it gets bouncing. Not drastic by any means...

    Tool box on new 2538?

Picked up a small steel tool box at runnings today for I think it was 17 bucks. Bolted it to the two fender mounts and let it rest on the plastic of the fender. Have to see how it works out.

    Tool box on new 2538?

Anyone have the electronic chute on a landpride snowblower?

Just purchased my 1064 and wanted electronics on it but it was priced at 500 so I passed. I am looking at linear actuators online for the flap but looking for some ideas for chute rotation. I have seen that some folks have used a power window motor but have not looked into it yet. Is there...

Purchased a new LandPride blower. Looking for ideas for electronics.

Purchased a new Land Pride 1064 snowblower today at the Empire Farm Days. They said cost was 500 on an electric chute setup. Not worth that to me. What have you guys used? New Bervac Blizzard B64B $2350 or new Landpride SB1064 $2700

Was snowblower shopping today again. Found a left over 2011 Bervac for 2350 and a new leftover from last year Landpride for 2700. The landpride looks new the Bervac looks a little less new. Both are very nice. Both have manual controls. Which one would you purchase and why?

Does anyone play with the fuel pump on these little tractors? Dyno numbers?

When farming we turned the fuel pump up on each one of our tractors. Each one had quite a bit available to us with a turn of a screw. Do these little tractors have the same? I have 16.5 hp but is 18 or 19 readily available? Certainly don't want to hurt my tractor or make it smoke like a super...

Moving trailers with snowblower on back and fel on front?

I will be having to snowblow around a few trailers this winter. I don't think I want to weld a ball into the fel and don't think I want to cut a hole into it to bolt one in. What have you guys done to just grab a trailer and go?

Why did you purchase the snowblower you have?

I will be going to the Empire farm days this coming week to look at snowblowers. I am in the market for a 60 inch 3 point hitch snowblower.
