Just picked up a new Massey 1648. It came standard with 10x16.5 R4's. I prefer the 12x16.5's that are on my LS. The wider/taller tires helped with stability and floated better. We're only talking a couple inches difference. Would that cause any harmful problems to the driveline? If so, what?

It's all I can do to put the chain/bar guard on my saw when not in use ... I typically just bungee it to the back of the tractor and drive it around that way. If it's not bungee'd there, it's sitting on its' shelf in the barn. I think if I didn't use it much, and it sat in the barn collecting...

Beautiful ... and on the technique, here it is. Tilt your bucket up about 1.5 inches or less above level, and put the loader in float, drive the snow that way. By keeping the bucket edge just off the ground, it will push the snow nicely without digging in.

Here's what I did: I left slack at the bottom because I still need to add quick connects at that connection for if/when I take the loader off. I also still need to add a mounting plate at the loader front cross member, so the ends are better secured.

I don't think the scissor truss needs the amount of bracing you're suggesting. Even still, when looking at the picture, I can spot the 2x4 lateral ties that connect the truss' together. (marked in red):

Got my rear work lights wired up. They work great, very bright. I mounted the toggle switch on the steering column. Actually almost looks like stock. Later, I'll add another switch on the left (front lights) and one in the middle (interior dome lights) to match this one.

Did my 50hr service today... And checked the bolts. The lower bolts that connect the loader frame to the subframe support piece were tight on the driver's side, but each of them got a full turn on the passenger side. For the front 4 loader bolts, 3 out of 4 got about a 1/4 turn on both sides...

Here she is with the framing all painted and Re-installed. I'm hoping to have the roof paint finished tomorrow, and installed Sunday. In the pics, you can see a few things I added to the frame... Up high in the front will be the mounting "slot" for the radio & speaker box once I build it...

Okay... took it back off, finished some little welding add-on's, and now the paint is drying. The roof won't be done tomorrow, but at least I'll be able to put the framing back on the tractor :D Here's the main (front) section, the rear section, and the roof...

Good call... I checked it and it was blocking the view a bit too much. Correction made. Also finished the rear "side-panels." Now I can take the frame back off later, weld on a few little "add-ons", clean it up, and prep it for paint :) I'm hoping to be mostly done by next week some time...

Okay, built the "rear-frame" today. Eventually, this will be used to attach the side rear-side frame pieces which will be used as hinge points for the doors once built. More immediately, the rear frame will be used to frame around the rear of the ROPS and also hold the "tool" and equipment box...

Thanks fellas... finished constructing the roof (beginning phase of course). Ended up making it out of 3/4" hardwood plywood. I will be cutting out "skylights" for the roof for visibility and covering them with plexi. I'll finish the wood with filler-primer and tractor enamel to seal it...

Funny story... I had to swing it down to open the hood to make sure that the windshield frame would clear the hood. When I was done I swung the grill guard back into position, but apparently I forgot to push the pins back in place to hold it. I didn't realize that the guard had swung back...

OK... well, decided to do 3 more stumps to finish an area before the day closed. In the first pic, you can see the remaining 3 in this area, all of which were Oak or Maple, which I had cut down last year. The 2 on the sides were maybe 8" diameter, and the middle one was my biggest attempt yet...

What I have thought about doing is making a specialized implement that would be a single "root-cutter" style shank, welded to the middle of a QA plate, about 36" long, with sharp teeth... that you could just go around a stump cutting the roots with, then pull it out with the bucket later...

To be honest... Pine stumps are the least of my worries and aren't in the same class as what I'm digging out, which is mainly oak & maple. I originally looked at the narrower ones, and that's what I was going to order (had I not found this one at auction) based on the same thought-principle...

Awwwwww yeah! So far I'm liking the new mower! Really cuts quick & smooth. I'm most surprised with how mellow the ride is, even when it bounces it absorbs the shock well and makes it surprisingly comfortable. Mowed this 3 acre field today in about 50 mins.

Bought a SSQA "stump-bucket" at an auction last week for a pretty good price, finally picked it up today and tried it out on a couple stumps. I can definitely see how these things can come in handy ... IF ... you have the power to run it. I dug out 4 total stumps. The first was about an 10"...

Thanks. Finally found one on sale at my local farm supply store (Family Farm & Home)... $399, it's the King-Kutter "professional series" 72" rake. As soon as I got it home, I added some steel for strength (to prevent twisting, making the tines the true weakest link) and repainted it of course :D

Yeah, that truck should be able to pull the tractor with no problems... Pulling is one thing, but handling is another. My old (04) Sequoia has a 4.7L v8 with only around 240hp/315tq ... and weighs around 5200lbs, which is close to what your truck weighs I would guess. Mine can move it...

The pond is nearly full already - the deep end is probably 7' + by now! I'm very pleased with the shape - I think this year I'll spend some more time contouring the yard toward the pond and tapering the banks a bit more, maybe clear a few more trees around it to cut down on the leaves.
