Link to one of the most impressive barns that I've ever seen online. And it's for sale!!

All dependent on location. For 2 years now my winter sales are $4.50 for 1st cutting and $6.00 for 2nd cutting. This year our first 2 inquiries have passed because of the price. This will be my first year in almost a decade of having significant inventory so should be interesting. If I shipped...

    Hydraulic Fluid Mystery

My first question is why would you put used oil back in? As for the oil on dipstick my NH can do that at times. I can check one day and it appears low and another day be full. But when I officially check and service my tractors they get topped off with engines running and 3pt lowered. Being...

Need Hydraulic Dipstick Replacement - New Holland Work master 40

I'm not familiar with your model. I will say don't beat yourself over it. They should not make dipsticks so hard to remove or as your describing it , out of plastic. Grease zerks on rear axle housing 75A

You do not want to see the grease on those. That would be bad. Odd the manual says nothing. On my older Deere they are 600 hr grease fitting so every oil change (approx 200-250hr) they get 2 pumps each from grease gun. Been doing it that way for 40 years.

    Tractor setting areas on fire?

On an old hayfield what do you notice different the next year? Better drainage, yield, or both assuming aerating is the only thing you did to the field
  104. LHF2019

    Aerating

Interesting. Is this the first year you have done aerating? I have been comparing Aerway and Ranch Works for possible future purchase. On long term hay I believe it would be good to break the surface just unsure how much value vs cost it really provides.

Video claimed you can earn $60-thousand per acre raisng X-mass trees.

You can make any number sound good. 1st cutting 180 acres @ 135 sm sq/acre=24,300 bales @ $4/bale=$97,200 2nd and 3rd cutting 180 acres @ 90 sm sq/acre=16,200 @ $6/bale=$97,200 Grand total of $194,400 I have yet to see any of those numbers in reality but boy does it look good to dream.

And your still saying the farmer is collecting ???????????????? How? If the land he rents is rendered unusable, how is he collecting? Your assuming the farmer is owning the land. I made it clear in my statement that is not always true.

Not sure how to respond to that. You also have high hopes they is no environmental damage and the land is useable after the fact...

This is close to being reality for my area. Just over the border in NY there is a large swath of available farm land in the solar panel program. Feed hay prices

Depends on your application. I would prefer 1st cutting hay for reseeding a lawn but straw for a garden. As for cost, if I had "mulch" hay it will be the same price as 1st cutting. It all cost the same to make and in some instance costs more. We also sell straw and it is our most expensive product.

When you have so many others selling cheaper they don't understand why ours is more. Our first year we had a winter surplus we had it at $5/bale. On tractors my grease intervals are 50 hr and 10 on loader. So every 25 hrs. on hourmeter I am greasing. On the loader tractors I may or may not hit them with a shot of grease. Anyone load large hay bales with a skid seer?

Tracks are the way to go. Amish use them when I did custom silage bales. They will not tear up the field. I use wheel one around farm. Much much faster loading customers than tractor and no clutch wear. Reach is the issue. Placing the 2nd layer bale centered is sometimes a 2 step process.
