Current pricing L2501 and transmission choice

Looking back at my invoice, the Equine discount only applied to the tractor + loader, and not to the additional hydraulics or implements. (I may call Kubota and confirm it shouldn't apply to the hydraulics -- I could see an argument for that)

Current pricing L2501 and transmission choice

If buying new, you can always use the equine discount for 20% off MSRP. Might be a better path? Not sure where exactly in middle TN you are/which dealer, but i had a good experience with Columbia Kubota. Happy to pass on salemsan info if you want to PM me (would absolutely recommend the...

MX5400. What brush cutter size? 60" or 72"?

Interesting. I can't find the MX5400/6000 manual online, but did find the 4800/5200. I'll assume the 5400/6000 is similar. The 4701 R4 rims can be set to 49.2in, 53.5in, 54.7in, and 59.1in from center of tread to center of tread. The 5200 can be set to 51.6in, 55.9in, 58.1in, and 61.2in. So...

MX5400. What brush cutter size? 60" or 72"?

What's the tread width at that setting? On my L4701 it's 70" from outside of tread on the second widest setting -- I had them set it there as it seemed the widest setting (another 4.5" wider) would put the tread wider than 72".

Warning About Dealers And Their Pricing

Same thing is true for Ram trucks -- certain dealers are moving a lot of inventory by going the low profit/high volume approach. While it's good to have that option, I fear the consequences -- you're left with "mega dealers" far away and no local businesses

Idk like a handrail or grab bar

I've been looking for something like this for my 4701. I like this idea, but it's just for Deere: https://www.boltonhooks.com/loader-grab-handles/

Can't connect Pioneer fitting from my EA grapple to the tractor?

Thanks for mentioning this. I've been fighting with my grapple connections and this looks like it'd be a huge help. I placed an order Monday morning, but sadly it still has not shipped :/. Hopefully it will get here one day and make my life easier!

Warning About Dealers And Their Pricing

That's been my approach as well -- been buying things earlier than I need them, while I can find them and before prices get crazier.

Warning About Dealers And Their Pricing

Quite a bit recently, unfortunately. Trucks, UTVs, chainsaws, tractors, etc. If you can get any kind of discount off MSRP it's a good day. I've been lucky to be able to get program discounts for some items (USAA discount, NHCA discount), but given the low supply and high relative demand my...

Warning About Dealers And Their Pricing

Not sure if I'm reading this correctly -- are you saying that asking MSRP is price gouging? I'd prefer to pay less than MSRP for sure, but I don't think I'd go so far as to say that's gouging. Regardless, helpful to know how to interpret the "call for price" ads.

Warning About Dealers And Their Pricing

Sometime there are cash discounts, but there's no denying that the cost of "perks" from using a card comes from somewhere -- presumably higher prices that you're paying. Personally I see it as a "tragedy of the commons" type thing -- originally it was a few people benefitting without prices...

Warning About Dealers And Their Pricing

I haven't finalized the purchase of my tractor yet (dealer is currently installing 3rd function and remotes), but did price with the NCHA discount. You can join and the first calendar year of membership is free. It's $100 after that (I had to renew given the delays in the tractor coming in)...

Love hate our new L4060 HSTC limited edition

Thanks..saw you mentioned forks but you hadn't mentioned what it was you were lifting. What size log/what species were you trying to lift? What forks do you have (what do they weigh?)

Love hate our new L4060 HSTC limited edition

Out of curiousity, can you explain what it is you're finding insufficient? What are you lifting, with what implement, etc? I ask as someone with a 4701 about two weeks out (it's at the dealership, just waiting on tires to come in). We have 28 acres, 15 of which are wooded, so I'm curious to...

    Choosing the right tractor

For me, that extra 7" in width was a factor in me picking the L4701. Would most folks stick with 72" implements with the MX (bush hog, land plane/box blade), or consider stepping up to 84"?

    Choosing the right tractor

Pretty sure the specs are off, even for an MX5400. My spreadsheet from my purchase decision show the MX5400 at 125.2in long, 69.7in wide, and 3734lbs bare weight. The 4701 specs listed above align with what I have.

    grapple time

Did they give any details? Has the tubing on the top lid been re-inforced or made thicker? I don't expect that to be a factor for me, but I'll never argue against an tool/implement being made more robust!

    grapple time

FWIW, my Homestead grapple shipped this week, ordered on 10/11 (so ~7 weeks). Sadly, I'm still waiting for the tractor to come in!
