It was decided for me. Worked out alright though. A lot easier to drill the six holes than I thought it would be. Good thing I upgraded my old Central Machinery drill press years ago with a real 1/2 hp motor though.

You're exactly right. After looking more at the parts sheet that came with the valve, there is a diagram with world's smallest font size identifying the three ports. You can see that the flow through the valve and the ports identified. It''s hard to see in this pic, but it's the diagram on...
