They also didn't have huge headrests and thick door posts to accommodate airbags. These have reduced visibility. At one time you had almost 360' visibility in a pickup. Now it's much more limited, especially when trying to see what's coming up behind you on the right.

My father really liked his cordwood saw so we would cut it in 4 foot lengths to let it dry.

Neither saw has had ethanol gas in it. An electric saw is on my list, but not as a 3rd saw. The biggest reason this saw hasn't been used much is because of the way it runs. It actually is harder to start than my 590 for some reason.

That's a lot of extra handling, and there wasn't enough money to do so.

It depends on road conditions. Public roads I follow the speed limit +5, private gravel roads it's just as fast as I can hang on.

What I don't understand about cutting costs is the number of people in my town who have a mailbox. One is closer to the post office than it is to their house. Granted changing addresses is a pain but my parents did it twice because of 911 coding.

I prefer not to work on them much. About the time they get to that point it's time to trade. Then again they are GM products.

I've always heard that but never found it to be true. I have never intentionally cut it to burn but often will cut a small, 2-4 inch tree to get it out of the way, then throw it onto the fire. Even after a couple of months it still sizzles, like any other green wood.

Just for reference, they are both 2500 series. I believe that the truck on the right is 2WD, while the newer one is 4wd.
