    I have a 3500lb rated trailer. The 3500lb-axle trailer is usually derated to 2990 or so to avoid the legal requirement for electric brakes. I had the local mfg add brakes to their 2990 trailer and rate it for 3500. Very simple. Bruce

    I made one. Works good. Two flat metal plates or angle . I used 1 1/2 angle I had. Three 3/8 cross bolts for about 1 1/2 inch between plates. and about 2 inches between bolts Drop either end over the post and pull up or jack up on the 3rd bolt. Bruce

    Extreme accuracy isn't required. A 48 inch level with a 1/2 inch spacer glued/taped to one end is close to 1%. For a longer level, find a straight 1x2 75 inches long, on edge, with a 3/4 inch spacer on the end, and a short level taped to the center. Or 8ft with 1in spacer. Bruce

    A torch and welder can make it into a 8ft scraper. :D I don't know how tractors compare, but our old John Deere A used an 8 foot scraper OK in field dirt contouring and road maintenance, but it wasn't used for digging into undisturbed soil. Bruce

    :D They were intended for tongue-pulled implements using a clevis hitch and pin. For use with a ball, they should be stabilized. Some use clamps that fit the draft links and others have an upright for the top link. Or just follow "best practice" and buy a "trailer mover." Bruce
