Hey all,
I have a 4200 with the stock turf tires (13.6-16 and 25x8.5-14). The fronts are getting pretty well worn and the rears have been loaded since new in 99 so rims/valve stem are starting to leak a little in the back.
Friend of mine has a set of R4's off his 2038r (14-17.5 and 23x8.5-14)...
Hello all,
Fired up my 4200 this past weekend and quickly noticed the power steering was responding normally. After getting out of the garage I went to lift the FEL and found it was barley going up. I increased the throttle to about half and noticed a bit of a lite moan coming from the front...
I have recently acquired a 1990 Cat 416 Series II backhoe.
It has the perkins diesel engine and I was trying to find where the block heater would be located (if it has one)
Thanks.

Hello all,
I recently purchased an old farm and along with it came some old farm equipment.
What I am inquiring about is a MF 180. It appears to be a a diesel, has the shift on the dash to the right of the wheel. I found what might be the ID numbers on the frame sort of under the seat...
Hello all. Been on the JD owner/operator list for a few years. Looking at adding some extra iron to work along my 4200.
Does anyone know where I can find the webpages that use to be on the deere.com site? Now only the 20 series info is there. Would love to see the 10 series info.
Any...
Driving home today and saw in grassy field next to the local Catholic church bunches of green and yellow vehicles cruising around. Swung in an hour later and partook in the fun.
They had a bit of everything to try out. Several sizes of the Z-Traks, Quik-Trak, Gators, Wide-Area mowers, front...
Hello All:
Went out today to start moving around 20 yards of malch and being this was the first time starting in 40 degree weather the old battery couldn't take it.
Without opening a hug can of worms.....what is the best/easiest/cheapest replacement without paying for a JD branded OEM.

Hello All:
Have a 4200 that when at idle and up to about 1/3 throttle is very difficult to turn the wheel.
If I get the throttle above 1/3 to half, the wheel turns pretty much normal.
Any suggestions?
TIA.

Hello All,
I noticed a oil spot on the garage floor after the tractor was parked overnight. After looking closely I noticed it was coming from one or two of the FEL hydro connectors (took off the FEL to do some cutting with the MMM). This also happens with my rear fittings. When I remove the...
Hi All:
Hot off the press: Deere's new mobile radial saw attchment for the FEL
I am building a deck and moved the radial arm saw from the garage to the back of the house to be closer to the deck and to keep all that saw dust out of every nook and cranny in the garage. It took me 10...
Hello,
Lately I have heard a lite clicking coming from the rear of my tractor (4200). Found it was the rear PTO partially engaging. If I press down on the yellow PTO lever I can get the noise to stop. The PTO shaft does spin while the tractor is running without a load. With the brush hog on...
All:
Friend of mine suggests I flip my rear tires (turfs) to increase the stance on the tractor (4200). Are there any suggestions or BTDT's on this suggestion.
I do have a 60"MMM, so I think flipping the fronts may cause clearance issues when turning.

All:
After my previous post with the 3 point not going down, I took some advice from fellow members and changed the hydro filter and made sure fluid was at the correct level.
Good new is that the 3 point goes up and down, the bad news is that now it will not hold a steady up position. What I...
Hello All. New to the list and have a question for the experts.
I have a 2000 JD 4200. This past weekend while doing some work with a boxblade my 3 point suddenly stopped going to the down postion. If I shut off the engine the box will drop. After I start back up and move level to the up...
