CAM2 PROMAX Premium Universal Tractor Hydraulic Fluid. Any Good??

In my Rural King RK37SC, I've always used the Rural King Providence store brand of "Premium Trans-Hydraulic Oil, Multi-Trac Formula for Use In Most Applications" which meets the John Deere J20C spec and many other specs, and costs about $15 per gallon. But they also sell "CAM2 PROMAX Premium...

Loader  Hydraulic problems with FEL & Brush Grapple/3rd Function Valves

I've got an RK37SC and was using my RKT-60 RK T/S brush grapple on the FEL to roll a part of a large tree trunk down a hill to a brush pile that we are going to burn later. I had the grapple jaws open and was using the teeth of the "bucket" part of the grapple, pushing the trunk while lifting...

Actual engine oil capacity for RK37SC???

This afternoon I started the 50 hr servicing. I had checked the oil 2 days ago, the last time I'd used it (for about 15 minutes), and it was just below the full mark, where it's been since I bought it new. I drained the crankcase, changed the filter, replaced the drain plug, filled with 6 qts...

LOUD in the cab. Can you hear the radio??

I've got an RK37SC and the more I use it, the better I like it. But I was wondering.... Are all of the RK cab tractors so loud in the cab with the engine running that you can't hear the radio or hear your phone ring or talk on it with the engine running, much less try to use the bluetooth???

    Serious RK37SC Hydraulic System Questions

My RK37 is the Shuttle Shift version, and the FEL hydraulics are sloooooow. After adjusting the flow control knob, below the front of the seat, to what is a good speed for lowering the loader, it takes 8 to 10 seconds to dump the bucket, even heaped with chert or gravel and everything warmed up...

Question About Food Plot/Green Field Preparation

I've got a BX2230 and am planning on buying a King Kutter 48" TG-48-XB-O PTO-driven tiller for it. This is a very well-built, tough, gear-drive tiller made for the BX size of CUT's. My property is 43 acres of heavily forested hills and hollers. I've got three or four places cleared where I'm...

    Adding a Tachometer to a BX2230?

It worries me somewhat not having a tach on my BX2230. Is there an easy way to add one? I imagine that the readout would have to be something small and probably digital.

    Bent rear axle. Options?

Just over two weeks ago I bought a well-used BX2230 with 1500 hours. It was all I could afford, and I bought it "where is, as is". I've bought several used tractors over the years, so this ain't my first rodeo. Anyway, two days ago I noticed when mowing the one very small flat area of my yard...

The "Orange" side of the Force has gotten me!

Have had Blue and Red. Still got a Green. Now I've gone over to the Orange side of the Force. I really needed a very sure-footed, very maneuverable riding mower for use on my very hilly and steep yard. Had tried a commercial Grasshopper - about ended up in the pond, and it won't do anything...

Looking at Used BX2230. Need Help, Please.

Tomorrow, I'm going to look at a 2005 BX2230 with 60" MMM. (Unfortunately no FEL at this point.) The tractor has around 1500 hours on it. All I know about Kubota's is that they're orange and supposed to be great tractors. This may be the first Kubota I purchase, if all goes well, and it's...

    Transmission Problem. Need Help, Please!

I have a 2010 LS R4020 with only 78 hours on it. It has had ALL scheduled maintenance and checks performed on it. About 4 weeks ago, I drove it about 6 miles, into town to have a small amount of work done on the FEL mounting bracket. It drove and shifted perfectly, as it always has. When I...

Multi-Grade Oil for 1950 Ford 8N Advice Needed

What multi-grade engine oil would you use in an 8N Ford tractor that would be good for all year usage? I'm thinking maybe Rotella or Delo 400 in 15W-40. What think y'all? This tractor doesn't get used more than about 10 to 15 hours per year, if that much. Thanks in advance, Tim

R4020 at Work on the Farm

Since I bought my R4020 in March, it's stayed at my home, where we live on a 43 acre heavily wooded tract of hills and hollers. I've used it extensively bush-hogging the underbrush in the woods around our house, running the Bush Hog 6' finishing mower (which does a Beautiful job, BTW), blading...

Grapple  Stump Grapple or Grapple Bucket or 4-in-1 ???

I've got an LS R4020 w/FEL (47hp & about 6000 lbs w/loaded tires) and need a FEL attachment that I can do a fair amount of digging and grubbing with, plus picking up brush and the occasional log or rock, and I've got a pile of old cross ties to place in my wet-weather creek-bed for erosion...

Can My R4020 handle this weight?

I have an LS R4020, w/shuttle shift, that weighs 3800 lbs and my rear tires are ballasted which adds another 600 to 700 lbs, bringing the total to around 4400 to 4500 lbs. My 3PH lift capacity is 2755 lbs. I will be brush hogging without the FEL to aid in maneuverability among the trees. I'm...

    I did it!! LS R4020

Went through the following comparisons: LS i3040 vs. R4020 vs. R4010 vs. U5020 vs. Mahindra 4035 vs. 5035 vs. Kubota MX5100 4WD Gear. Was initially going for the i3040, but just couldn't get away from the fact the the R4010 and the R4020 just felt "right" for me for what I need to do and had...

    LS vs. Mahindra

I went today and looked at the LS R4020 again and then drove straight to the Mahindra dealer a few miles away and looked at the 4035 4wd Shuttle. Wow! What a difference! The Mahindra was rather stark and primitive compared to the LS. No aux hyd ports, lighting not near as nice, seat not...

    Mowing  LS R4020 MMM Question

When I went and checked out the R4020 at my local dealer, he said that there wasn't a mid-mounted mower available for it. BUT, when I was looking at the brochure later, it said a mid-PTO was available as an option, and also gave the specs, but no picture, for a MMM for the R4020. There's a...

    Yet Another Newbie

Glad I found this site! Lots of good tractor info here, especially for CUT's, which is what I'm looking at buying now. Question about LS model comparison

What is the difference between the LS S3010 and the i3030? The only difference I can see is the number of gears in the transmission. The S3010 has 8 fwd & 8 reverse and the i3030 has 12 fwd & 12 reverse. Also, can anybody tell me if the transmissions in these two tractors are fully...
