I plan to pick up an SQ600 this weekend to use with my L3830. What RPM should I keep the tractor at while mowing? Unless I'm reading the manual wrong, the table has 2500 listed. That just seems high.

I have an IM 702 with the 9 inch auger and went to use it for the first time yesterday. The pto was spinning the shaft but the auger turned very slowly and stopped completely once it tuched the ground. Any suggestions on what may be wrong. Thanks, David L3830

I'm standing here looking at my tractor holding the oil drain container I use on my other vehicles - then glance over at at 11.5 GALLONS of transmission fluid. Does anyone have any slick (no pun intended) ideas on what to drain the transmission fluid into?

Went to the dealer this weekend to pick up the fluids and filters needed to do the 50 hour service on my 3830. They said not to worry about changing the transmission/hydraulic fluid just change the filter and top it back off. He even gave me UDT versus SUDT to top it off. Does this make sense?

I'm trying to decide if I should do the 50 hour service or let the dealer. I do most of the maintenance work on my other vehicles, but this is my first tractor and diesel. How difficult is it? Is it possible for a back yard mechanic with the shop manuals to do it right?
