What would be the best parts, setup and operator manual for my #8 little genius two bottom plow?

On the land side wheel axel where the tension spring connects. There are two ears on the spring attachment that is connected to the axel. On my attachment one ear is broke off. I don't see a need for two ears. Question why two ears? Is it called a spring attachment?
