I bent the heck out of the leveling screw on a Case 885. I'm now trying to disassemble the screw from the upper and lower housing to attempt to heat the shaft and attempt to straighten. Anyone have experience in taking the upper and lower housings apart to remove the screw?

I have a Case 885 tractor. The tab or ears where the lower link of the 3 point hitch attaches to the underneath of the rear axle carrier broke over the weekend. Does anyone know whether the Case axle carrier is cast iron or cast steel? Any help or experience is much appreciated!
