Anyone have good luck using electrolysis to remove rust from wheels?

After getting the tires off the rims, I was somewhat surprised that the rust wasn't worse than it is. There was one small hole that need a patch welded. Where the pitting was severe, some welding and grinding helped out. I'd like to remove the remaining paint and rust then repaint. Would using...

    Which thermostat do I use

Before it gets really cold I want to flush my coolant and change the thermostat. My year tractor came with a 160* thermostat. New Holland now has 180* and 190* thermostats. Would it be a bad move to go to a hotter thermostat? Thanks

    Advice needed on leak

I've been trying to find the source of this leak, but I think it's time to reach out to the brains of TBN. Since a picture is better than words, here are a few . I tried tightening the bolts that hold the castings together, but they're tight. The sides of the castings are dry, the drip is...

Just wondering what the potential repairs will be on a hydro tractor as it ages?

Are xx20 series parts getting harder to find?

I've owned my Ford 1920 since 6/28/88. Over the last 30+ years it has only required basic maintenance, until mice decided to nest in the dashboard. The fuel guge and temp gauge still aren't functional. When it warms up I'll look at that in depth. Anyway, I've read here, and on other forums...

Another Ford 1920 with rear rim issues

I've been reading the recent (and older) threads about 1920's with tire and/or rim problems, but I can't seem to find answers to my questions. One day I went to use the tractor and noticed a big puddle in the barn, I realized it came from the tire, I didn't change the valve core for a couple...

    Ford 1920 electrical trouble

The tractor was running great until some mice decided to make a nest on top of the fuel tank and chew some wires (I hope they're constipated). I bought a new circuit board and wiring harness for the instrument panel. I commented to the dealer that it didn't match the original exactly, but he...

    3-point blower question

I'm considering the purchase of a snowblower next year and have a question. Are blowers similar to rototillers in that some are all gear drive without a chain? Thanks. Bob

    1920 battery drain

A few weeks ago my Ford 1920 wouldn't turn over so I charged the battery and it started and ran fine. A couple days later, it wouldn't turn over. Since the battery was over 13 years old, I bought a new one. Tractor started fine, put it in the barn. Fast forward to last Thursday's night ice...

    Quick Attach Adapter for Loader

What has been the experience of anyone adding the conversion to their loader? I see ATI has one to fit my loader (Ford 7108), I believe Kasco also makes one. A few questions.... Approximate cost? How much did it lower you lifting/breakout capability? Anyone sell them online? Thanks for any...

Need perfect bucket for a toothbar?

I recently started to look at toothbars but am concerned that the bucket may have too much wear on the cutting edge to successfully bolt on a toothbar. Does the edge have to be "factory new" for the bar to fit properly? I measured from the inside of the bucket to the cutting edge at both...

What causes leak-off lines to leak?

Yesterday after using the tractor, Ford 1920, I noticed a smell of fuel and one of the the leak-off lines was leaking. It seemed to be leaking where the spring clamp goes over the tubing, so maybe it's a case of the tubing being worn. What are the leak-off lines for? Could the leak indicate a...

Forks  Clamp on forks vs. hook on forks

Hi, I've been lurking around for a couple weeks before I joined. I did several searches on the site about pallet forks but didn't find any info about hook on forks. (Some companies call them "drive in forks.") The kind where usually 3 hooks are welded to the top of the bucket and the forks hang...
