Input wanted from current Ram 1500 owners

I'm probably about to get a new truck. I'm looking right now at the F150 and Ram 1500 both with V8 engines. I've driven Fords for 30 years, but frankly the current F150 doesn't impress me that much. I'd like to hear how Ram owners feel about thier trucks. Has it been reliable? Does it tow well...

    Tractor batteries - any recommendations?

Well after 7 years my grandson finally killed the battery in my Mahindra 3510 by leaving the key switch on. I am now in the market for a new battery, and figured I'd tap into the collective experience of TBN. Anybody have any recommendations for a new battery? Any experience with the brand that...

    Air in curl cylinders?

Maybe somebody that knows something about hydraulics (that aint me) can help me out. I seem to have air in my curl cylinders on my loader. When the bucket is tilted down any, and I set it down, the bucket curls up several inches. I don't remember this happening when it was newer, so I'm guessing...

    Curl cylinder question

Well, after playing with my new ratchet rake most of the day, I have noticed that there is quite a bit of play in my curl cylinders when extended. I know you shouldn't back drag with a lot of down force with the cylinders extended, but I do some finish dragging with the loader in the float...

Weight of the ML112 loader, bucket and subframe?

I'm considering buying a trailer, and I'm trying to figure out how much my tractor and loader weigh. I found the weight of the tractor, but I dug through the loader manual from cover to cover and couldn't find the weight of the loader. Does anybody know what the ML112 loader, subframe, and...

Best size tiller for a 3510?

Considering a tiller to use with my 3510. My question is will my 3510 drive a 6 foot tiller that will cover both tracks, or should I get a smaller tiller that I can offset? Our soil is generally a clay loam with no rocks but usually some roots. I'm thinking it will handle a 6 foot tiller, but...

Will it hurt to pull a skid steer?

Wasn't sure where to put this, but here goes. I have an older Bobcat skid steer loader that I've been working on trying to get going, but it currently doesn't run. I need to move it this week because my daughter is getting married and we are having the reception under my tractor shed on Saturday...

    Bobcat M700 problems

I recently acquired a Melroe Bobcat M700 circa 1974. It runs good, but has problems with the drive. When you first crank it up, it drives and turns pretty good, but after about 5 minutes, the drive gets noisy, jerky, and almost quits completely. If you let it sit for a few minutes, it will go...

Taylor Way 6' disc for $600 - Good price?

I am about to call about a taylor-way 6' heavy duty disc harrow that is on the local craigslist for $600. I don't know anything about these discs, so if anybody has any info about quality, parts availability, etc, I'd love to hear it. Thanks, Dave

    Finally built my grader

Well, after about 2 years of procrastination, I finally built myself a grader. I have about $200 of materials in it, plus some stuff I already had and scavenged. I think it turned out pretty good. If you are interested in the build, I have quite a few pictures at Image hosting, free photo...

    Stump 1 - excavator 0

Got a chance to work ;) with a reasonable size excavator (16000 lb machine) yesterday, and decided to remove a stump. This was an oak stump about 2+ feet in diameter cut off near ground level. Well, I dug a while, and dug a while, and dug a while, and still couldn't budge the stump. I wound up...

    ML112 loader curl strength

While cleaning up a lot of trees and debris from Hurricane Gustav recently, I noticed something strange (or maybe not). When using clamp and strap on forks with my bucket on my ML112 loader on my 3510, it would not curl the heavier loads completely. The loader would still lift the load, but it...

Building middle buster/subsoiler - need pics and ideas

I'm in the process of building a middle buster and subsoiler from the parts of an old middle buster that got twisted a bit somehow. :D I would like to be able to put the plow bottom on for shallow plowing and trenching, and remove it and have a small hardened point for deeper subsoiling and...

    Dearborn Disc Plow

Some of you may remember that I found this Dearborn Disc Plow a while back. I said I'd post some pictures when I got a chance to try it out, so I'm posting a couple now. I used it a few weeks ago at our big garden spot, but didn't get any pictures. I broke up the small garden at our house and...

    Question about turning plows

As some probably saw, I recently bought a Dearborn disc plow, and I have a question about the offset link for the 3 pt hitch. On the plow I have, the offset is on the left side of the plow when looking at the plow from the back, however, the manual for the plow shows it on the right side of the...

What the heck did I find?

I'm looking at an implement that an old hay farmer in our area is selling. He calls it a pan plow. I've never seen anything like it and I thought maybe some of you could enlighten me. It is set up like a 2 bottom turning plow, but instead of traditional plow bottoms, it has 2 big disks about 2.5...

    Row-making attachments

What attachments to you use to make rows? When I was growing up on the farm, we used a tool bar with disc hillers in the front and a sweep behind and in between to clean up the middles. I'd like to make an attachment to make rows for my corn and pea patch, but I'm not sure what will work well...

    Forks, forks, and more forks

Well, like everybody else, I decided to build myself some forks. I went back and forth about design between the clamp-on or chain-on types, and even considered some other designs, but decided on a hybrid between the two. The forks clamp on for quick, light duty work, and if it's something heavy...

Upcoming build - question for grader owners

I'm planning to build a road grader soon similar to the dura-grader and others like the one detailed in another recent thread. My question for owners of this type of grader is what is the best vertical angle for the angle iron supporting the cutting blades? I would guess at setting the angle at...

    Proper angle for middle buster/ripper

I'm rebuilding an old middle buster that I turned into a pretzle a while back, and I'm wondering what the best angle for the plow point is. It was originially at probably about 35 degrees from horizontal when the point was touching the ground, and I personally think it was too flat. I have seen...

    Skid steer quick attach

Has anybody built there own skid steer quick attach to go on the loader arms of a tractor? I priced them recently, and they are pretty steep ($525), or at least seem steep for what they appear to be (since I'm really cheap). I haven't examined one closely to see how complicated they are, but the...

    Thinking about building a PHD

I have access to a free bush hog, and don't really need one, but I was thinking that maybe I could use the gearbox to build a post hole digger, which I could use. My questions to the group are a) is the gearbox on a bush hog and a phd similar or are the final drive ratios a lot different, and b)...

    Is this normal?

I've got a 3510 with FEL that I'm using to add dirt to and smooth the inside of the levees on 2 ponds on our property to make them easier to mow. I dump the dirt in place then tilt the bucket down slightly and back up in the "float" position to smooth and contour the added dirt. When I raise the...

Super Trac universal THF in 3510?

Is anybody here familiar with the Super Trac brand of universal tractor hydraulic fluid? If so, would it be OK to use in my 3510? The book isn't very clear on specs for the hyd/trans fluid and I figured someone here might know. Thanks, Dave

    3510 Hydraulic Filter

Has anybody cross referenced the spin on transmission filter for the 3510? I don't live close to a dealer, and if I could get one locally, it would save some gas. Gotta get that 50 hr. service done.

    O-rings on ML112 FEL on 3510

I have a 3510 with a model ML112 FEL that we purchased about 2 months ago. The other day I noticed a small O-ring on the shaft of each of the cylinders that curl the bucket on the loader. They are outside of the cylinders just on the shaft. I looked in my manual and couldn't tell if they are...

    Reinforcement for FEL bucket

I'm sure that a lot of you have done something like this. It only took me a couple of weeks to bend the top of my FEL bucket on my new Mahindra 3510, and I'd like to reinforce the top edge of the bucket and maybe add some hooks. My idea is to take a piece of 2 X 1/4 inch angle and weld to the...

    Went to buy a 3525, wound up with a 3510 w/FEL

Well, we got our tractor today. We were considering a 3525, but after driving the 2 back to back, we went with the 3510. I think we got a pretty good price, $16,690 with the FEL. I hope it doesn't rain tomorrow, I've got some dirt to move. Pictures to come later if I can figure out how to post them.

    Backhoe  Backhoe on a Mahindra

Does anybody have any experience with backhoe attachments on a Mahindra tractor? Do most of the backhoes use remote hydraulic hookups on the back? The tractor that we are looking at does not have the remotes, but we probably will want to add a backhoe in the future. I know that some of them are...

New member and soon to be new Mahindra owner

Gentlemen, I just joined the forum, and wanted to get your opinion on a couple of things. We are about to replace our 25 year old Long 460 with a new tractor. I'm considering a Mahindra 3525 with FEL. I've read some of the posts, and I think most consider this to be a good tractor. My question...
