Glow plugs not working on 8 year old Kubota BX23s

Out of nowhere my reliably starting (and seemingly new, where did that eight years go to?) Kubota BX23s wouldn't start, and we noticed the glow plug light wasn't coming on. First thing checked were fuses and it seemed one time that just removing and reinserting the fuse got it to come on and...

Kubota BX25 cutting deck mounting and storage

I just did my spring re-mounting of the 60" cutting deck, something I only do once a year, and therefore kind of hard to get good at. This is of course the drive over deck, and in the ads they show it as being effortless, but it never is. I have two questions for the group. 1. Whenever I...

Backhoe  New backhoe owner with ditch questions

I just took delivery of a brand new Kubota BX-23S, complete with a hydraulic plow and backhoe. So far it sure seems like an excellent machine! When they delivered it, after cutting the lawn, I went down back and tried my hand at experimenting with the backhoe. It's fairly easy to operate...

How many hours of use is "a lot"?

My Kubota BX-2350, built in 1996 and purchased used, has 855 hours on it. Is that a lot? Or was it used by a little old lady to dig holes on the way to church? :) I'm not sure how much use vs. useful life remaining it has, and would love some opinions, thanks!

A more convenient way to charge the battery on my Kubota?

My BX-2350 gets used sporadically in the winter, and if if it's been too long and too cold, the battery needs a charge before I can use the tractor. Of course, it would have been too easy for them to have the battery in a spot where you can simply hook up the charger to it, nope, you've got to...

Kubota BX-2350 won't go into forward or reverse

In the middle of plowing, naturally. Sigh. Further investigation reveals that the rod from the "forward-reverse rocker" is completely disconnected from, I guess, the transmission in a very tough spot, up kind of behind the transmission oil filter. I'm guessing a clevis pin or something like...

Oil & Fuel  I hope I'm not the only one who's lost his fuel tank cap

I was fueling my Kubota BX2350 at night, poor lighting, and after pouring in the diesel (I'd put the fuel tank cap as usual on the right side foot deck) I buttoned up the fuel can, stored it in the shed, and proceeded to climb onto the tractor and drive away, tank uncovered, cap apparently still...

    Varmints in the machine

I went out to use my Kubota BX today, after not using it for nearly two months, and discovered to my dismay that some critter (likely a mouse) had made a pretty good sized nest on top of the battery. Big project to get it all cleaned out. I'm sure I'm not the only person who's run into that...

    3-point hitch top link issue

When I bought my used Kubota BX-23 the seller forgot to give me the top link for my 3-point hitch, it got lost and he ended up purchasing a new one for me from Tractor Supply. It's a Part # 0268412. I want to use the hitch to hold a home-made rear weight using a metal garbage can like I've...

New owner of BX-23: servicing questions

I bought a (new to me) used 2005 Kubota BX-23 back in late November and used it all winter for snow removal. It did a surprisingly outstanding job of plowing just using the bucket, and I had no incentive to buy a plow for it, based on how my driveway is configured. Now that winter is...
