    Farmall M Serial Number

I recently bought a what I thought was a 1948 model year M but when I looked at the serial tag it did not come remotely close to any thing I had seen. The Serial number is 12540 and the last number is either an 8 or a 9 it is hard to tell. I am wondering if any one has some info on this. Thanks

1948 Farmall "M" Factory Power Steering

Today I bought a 1948 Farmall M and it has factory power steering. I have never in my life seen a Farmall M with factory power steering, I know that the Super M had it as an option but not the normal M. I am wondering if any one has some facts on this like how many were made ect.
