    Boot retaining ring - broken?

Found this yesterday. Anyone know a easy way to fix this? Does it require buying a new boot? I am certain it is not good and probably is a harbinger of a coming failure.

    After Action report....

So it rained all weekend therefore no actions, did not even crank it. Shame. I recently purchased a Smith's trihone and a handheld Smith's sharpening tool. I did however put a lethal edge on a brush axe so I should have a manual implement of destruction on my next trip into the woods.

    trogen filled tires

I have a couple of cars with nitrogen filled tires. One of them was down to 25 lbs after three years. The tire dealer did not do nitrogen and the dealer wanted 20 bucks for a fill up. So I went to a welding gas place and bought a nitrogen B tank and regulator. 240 out the door. Now I have a...

    Friday night lights!

I recently put fender lights on my BX so I could mow essentially at night. I fly each Thursday and by the time I get home its headed into 8 to 8:30, so in order to get her done the lights were the ticket (I want alley lights next but that's a different thread). So this Thursday evening I took...

    Fender light install

I am placing this here for a reminder. I installed the fender light kit on the BX this weekend. I did take some pictures and will post those this evening. All in all, took me about three hours start to finish including gathering the tools, breaks (it was hot and humid) and the clean up. I found...

Stopped by the dealer this morning. I am 47.5 hour so I know I need that 50 hour service kit. He tells me he had a returned fender lite kit that he would sell me for cost. I took it. More pictures and updates as I put my first lighting accessory on.

BX tiller attachment - The good, the bad, the ugly

As spring is coming a tiller attachment for the 3PH has come up in conversation. I have a 2670 and would like to hear What model tiller you are using. Is it a reverse rotation? Does the tractor perform well with it etc. Should I just get a disc harrow and forget about the tiller? Fire away...

Life hack: pressure washing at night

I ran out of daylight today before I ran out of things to do. I needed to shoot the tractor as well as the other tractor (Its a firebird) before I put them away. But I could not see what I was doing since sundown had came and went. I used some duct tape to attach a 1.00 led flashlight to the...

    Isolator for hydraulic hoses

I noticed that the hoses from the valve were leaning over and rubbing the "Kubota" decal. I knew if I did not do something about it I would end up with a nice operation mark on the hood. I used a rubber isolator from a shipping crate used for equipment to solve this problem. I drilled a 3/8 hole...

    BX2370 light under seat

I have a conundrum. My friend says get a auto bezel from a junk yard and use that. I think I want something more sealed. Under the seat would make a good light for the floor of the operator area. Anyone done this before?

Zerk fails to take a grease shot

I went over the entire machine yesterday. Even cleaned up the glops that push out at the edges. I had one fitting on the piston that actuates the bucket and one that is in the lower of the passenger side actuator for the arms of the FEL that wont take grease. Is it the zerk? or the nozzle. Seems...

Spray on bed liner for the mower deck?

Whats the value of performing the 50hr service at 25hrs

I usually like to shorten the service of the first fluids and filters for the first change by half of the recommended amount for NEW equipment. In my mind I am getting the tooling shavings etc out of the system early. So far I have caught some pretty big stuff when I have done this and it...

    Dealer Story

The fella that runs my local kubota dealership is one of the few remaining good guys from the old school. I went by there yesterday because I am waiting on the bagger attachment for my Bx 2370. Yeah, its the hummer of lawn mowers when you use it that way, but it is perfect for preparing beds...

    Buying Advice  Contemplating a 1870 vs a 2370

Looking for help on which and what. I have test driven the 2670...Nice machine, but more than I need. I have also tested the 1870. Again nice machine but I got the feeling it was going to be under powered. I am considering this purchase for mowing 2 acres of lawn, doing some landscaping/grading...
