Amerind Mackissic Mighty Mac shredder air leak at muffler

I have a Mighty Mac 14PT that works great. I only wish I ended up with more mulch after shredding a huge pile of branches. I recently noticed an air leak just below the muffler. Though I couldn't tell if it was leaking on the top or bottom of the pipe the muffler is attached to, I sense it was...

BCS 735 Acme 330WB engine rough running

I've been attempting to get my tiller running, but I'm having trouble. The engine runs rough and then dies, and it must be kept with the choke on to run at all. I cleaned the jets, but that didn't help. When I removed the air filter, I could get it to run smoothly for awhile. I thought maybe the...

Tire Selection  Replacing shredder ribbed tires with knobby tires

I have an old Amerind MacKissic Mighty Mac Shredder. Two of my four tires are shot, and I am replacing them with new ones. The original tires are ribbed, but I will be replacing the two bad ones with knobby tires. I move this machine around with my BCS735, so there is no power to any of the...

Correct spark plug for BCS735 gasoline ALN330wb

Apparently, Acme can't figure out the correct spark plug for this machine. Is the Champion L86 or L90 to be used? They seem to be reversed in these two Acme publications. Which is for gasoline and which is for kerosene? The NGK equivalent for the L90 is B5HS or BR5HS, while the equivalent...

Manual cable recoil starter on BCS735

I find the recoil starter on my BCS735 with ALN330wb engine retracts the cable very slowly. Would a cleaning, oiling or tightening the spring help this? Any suggestions on how to do this? Also, the cable has eaten through the faierlead (part #108.022). I'm going to rotate the starter...

    Changing gears on a BCS735

I find it challenging to change gears on my BCS735, especially getting it in and out of 1st due to the angle of the shift rod. It can be finicky when moving into gear or neutral, and I have to play with it to get it right. Are there ways to adjust this so it is a smoother process?

    BCS735 clutch issue

After extended use of my BCS735, I find that the clutch won't disengage. I don't have this problem when I use it for short periods of time. I've tried various amounts of play in the cable, with the same result. Also, I want to verify that others find the clutch handle to require significant...
