Tires  Power Hop/Tire Pressure for TC 24D

I was a little remiss in keeping up with the air pressure in my tires. Last time out plowing the seal on my rear tire broke and I lost all the air and ballast. After getting the bead reset and the tire refilled I checked all my tires and inflated to just under the recommended maximum. I was out...

    Should I return these tires?

I had a front tire go down last weekend. I was going to replace them anyway becuase they didn't have much bite for plowing snow last winter. I had Titan Trac Loaders Titanョ Tire catalog I called around and got pricing. The dealer I chose said he'd give me either the Titan Tire or the Carlisle...

    TC 24D Hydraulic Fluid Leak

My tractor has developed a fluid leak in the rear end. I've attached a picture (not the best) where you can see the two spots on the driveway. The leak may be coming from a gasket between the pieces that are bolted together. I assume this isn't an easy or cheap repair. Anyone had this type of...

    102" Deckover Trailer

I really like this Deckover Trailer but they won't ship and its a 15 hour drive to the dealer. I like the width at 102" and the 16' flat deck. I can use it for my tractor and for the four wheelers. I've looked at other deckover trailers but they end up being serious heavy duty for contractors...

    Deal or No Deal

I decided to give up on the goat idea for clearing a section my property and started looking into brush hog mowers. I don't want to spend big bucks on something since after I get this area cleaned up I won't have much additional use for it. I looked all over the internet and the used equipment...

    Brush Hog or Goats

I have an area of land adjacent to my house that I want to clean up. First I thought about goats and even started putting up an electric fence. But the deer are tearing down the fence as fast as I put it up and the wife and kids are worried about what will happen to the goats over the winter...

Mowing  914A Mid-Mount Mower Blade Removal

Are the bolts holding the blades on metric? They're bigger than 3/4" and smaller than 7/8". I can't get them to move with an adjustable so I planned to use the impact wrench but I don't have a socket to fit it. I don't own any metric sockets that are that large. Thanks, Kip

    Engine not heating up?

I was out plowing snow the other day. It was about 15 degrees outside. The needle on my temperature gauge barely moved off the bottom line. It seems to me that the engine temp would still run close to normal even with the colder temps. Has anyone else experienced this or is it likely that my...

    Goats for clearing land

Several years ago I bought a 14 acres and built a house on it. The lot was wooded but had some undergrowth. Now that we're in the house and some of the other projects are done, I'd like to clear out some of that undergrowth. A friend of mine was in town from Tennessee last week and for the...

    Snowblower for TC24D

Is anyone using a snowblower on their TC 24D? I drove by a place today that sells equipment on consignment. I didn't stop but it looked to be about 5'. I looked at the NH website but they don't seem to offer a blower for the 24. Can I put a blower on the back or is the tractor too small? If I...

    TC 24D Oil Capacity

I'm getting ready to change the oil on my TC 24D. When I bought the tractor the dealer gave me a NH Lubrication Maintenance Guide. In the pamphlet the oil capacity is listed at 4.2 Qts. In the Operators Manual the capacity is listed at 3.5 Qts. Does anyone know which is correct?

    Baby Rabbit

I was out spraying liquid sevin around the perimeter of my house to control the critters. I was spraying the ground when suddenly the ground moved. Lo and behold I just debugged a baby rabbit. I figured if I didn't clean it off, it would probably die from the pesticide. But then I was worried...

    Tractor Use #1098

Since getting the my NH TC24 back in October, I've been finding more and more uses for it. We got about 3" of snow already this evening. This morning I promised my five year old son that we would go sledding after dinner if it snowed. The snow we got this afternoon on top of the 10" we got on...

    Garage Heat

I just moved into our new home back in August. It has a 24'x30' garage that is attached to the house by a mud room. I insulated the walls and ceilings but there is no heat in the garage. I didn't really think about the heat until yesterday. We've had an unusual winter here in central PA. Its...

    Relax and have a homebrew

Any home brewers out there? I'm relaxing with a fine Sierra Nevada Pale Ale that I brewed a couple of weeks ago. I just bottled it last Monday so its not fully carbonated yet, but I couldn't wait and cracked one open. Another couple of days and it should be perfect. I'm always on the look out...

    60" MMM questions and problems

60\" MMM questions and problems I just bought a used TC24D with 60 hours on it. It was delivered a week ago. I've done some driveway maintenance but until today the ground has been to soft to use the mower . I was looking at the mower height set up in the manual. I wanted to set the height to...

    Price Check  TC29 Pricing

Well its getting down to crunch time. There was frost on the car windows this morning which means snow can't be to far behind. I've been putting off the tractor purchase because of all of the problems I had with the builder for my new house. He turned out to be a moron whom I fired and then to...

    Dish Network or Directv

I just moved and the cable company that I now have doesn't offer some of the channels that I had at my old place. I'm considering the switch to satellite but know little about them. I know the cable companies are slamming them with ads about reliablility and rain fade. But, because of Isabell I...

    L3010 GST

I stopped by my local Kubota dealer this morning on the way to work. He has an L3010 GST on his lot with 146 hours. It has a FEL (don't recall the model). He's asking $14,500 for it. Is this a good price? I looked at Machinery Link and it gave $14,600 for a tractor in good condition so his price...

    Water Softeners

The new house is slowly approaching completion. I had a water sample analyzed and received a price for a treatment system of $1900.00 I never imagined that treating the water from my well would be so expensive. The plumber for the new house told me to figure around $1500. I didn't get a print...

    Starting A New Septic System

When I move into the new house, it will be the first house I've lived in that had a septic system. Must you do anything to a brand new system to get it to start digesting the things that are going into it or will the process start up on its own? Are the enzime products that you buy in the...

    Water Well

The well driller finally made it to our new house. I was nervous that the house would be finished and we'd have no water. The driller was called in July but due to the drought was backed up. They drilled the well and hit water at 150', continued to 235' where they got more water. The well is...

    Used L3010 HST

I saw a used Kubota L3010 HST with R4's, FEL and a Woods RD7200 rear finish mower. Year 2000 with 320 hours. I was passing by, saw it and took a quick look. I'll have to go back to get more details but I wanted to know what a fair offer would be. The sign said $18,000 OBO. There are a couple...

    Calling all Gearheads

The new house is started and it looks like we're going to blow our budget on some of the allowances that the builder included in his price for the cabinets, fixtures, etc. The money to pay for these items has to come from somewhere, so for now it looks like it comes out of the tractor fund...

    Urine Spots on Lawn

I have two large dogs. There are several spots around the yard were the dogs have urinated often enough to kill the grass. I want to fix up the yard so we can sell the house (we broke ground on a new house in the country last week). What can I do to neutralize the soil so that I can get new...

    Wood Retaining Walls

I read the posts on the Retaining Walls using Allen Block or similar products. I don't think my budget is going to allow for one of these systems on my new house. What about treated 6x6 or railroad ties? Has anyone installed a retaining wall using these materials with good success? Whats the...

    AGCO ST Series

Has anyone looked at or purchased an AGCO ST series tractor. I don't know much about them and there isn't much posted about the AGCO line of compacts. Are they worth considering or should I confine my search to the big three? I stopped at a local farm equipment dealer. I didn't have time to...

    TC25D or TC29D

I'm sure this has been discussed before but I didn't locate anything with a quick search of the NH Buying Board. Except for 4 extra gross horse power and 3.3 extra PTO horse power the TC 25D and the TC29D appear to spec out about the same. Weights, pumps, lift capacity, etc. From what I...

    Warranty Repairs

I've been reading as much as I can about compact tractors on this site and several others. I'm trying to determine which color tractor, what size and what I should expect to pay. 855 or 4200

I'm looking at purchasing a used 855 or 4200. Is there anything that sets one apart from the other? Are there any known problems with a model year of either tractor that I should avoid? I'll be mowing 2-3 acres, plowing an 800' driveway and doing some FEL work. Thanks for the help.
