why is this scrap on nearly every bale knot?

Got these scraps on nearly every bale knot today. First time baling, just curious if they are preventable? Knots seemed unharmed and bales were fine. New Holland 276 baler and Tytan 9000 sisal. Thank you all for any explanation or suggestions or information! (the silver is tape to hold it...

    NH 276 baler question

Going over a new to me 276. On the twine finger lever (part #66188) there is one spring (part # 143224). It sure looks to me like there should be two? Searching images I see one and two? There seems to be an identical attachment point for another. Parts diagrams I have found list part but...

    Drum Mower driveline protection

Hi all. Does anyone running a drum mower for hay use a slip clutch coupler or an overrunning clutch for PTO/tractor protection? I'm a bit leery using nothing, no hole for a shear pin. I am worried about PTO brake as I understand it takes a drum mower a while to spin down. Any thoughts or...

Good Afternoon All, In the near, warmer, future I intend to clean out my diesel/water separator. I have read quite a bit on here about the difficulty of bleeding the fuel system after reinstalling due to unclear manual directions. I have included the directions from my 6800 manual and was...

Tar River 185 drum mower question

Looking at 185 drum mower. Can't find a spec for offset in cutting position. Tractor is 84 inches outside rear tread to tread. I am trying to figure out if the 185 will extend beyond my tread in cutting position. My tractor has telescoping 3 pt arms. Would I just skew them over to cutting...

Rotary Cutter  king kutter p-72-60-p-b (dual wheel pull type)

Hi everyone. Was readying my cutter for use I found that my round stump jumper has a slight bit of up/down play in it. If I push up on the extended blade, that blade goes up and the other down. Total play on one blade tip to tip may be 1/2 inch. Stump jumper measured play 1/8 inch if that...

    Mowing  L5740 set-up/combination

Good Morning, Looking at some purchase options and wondering if this is a viable set-up: L5740 4WD hst w/FEL using a 1600 lb twin spindle 8 ft pull type rotary cutter. Terrain is 40 acres, clean/cleared pasture (1-2 ft) grass, rolling hills, nothing too steep. Will the 5740 handle this, at a...

Mowing  110 TLB with full belly pan running very warm

My 110 TLB has a full belly pan/skid plate. Tractor is running fine but heats up while brush hogging to about little over half on hydraulic temp gauge and essentially one half on water temp gauge. I think the pan is restricting airflow and "holding" heat. Temp gun shows about 155 F on rear...
