    Bobcat 743B won't start

All, It was cold yesterday when I attempted to start my 743b ('92, 3000 hours). When I first tried it, it turned over and even started and ran rough for about 5 secs before stopping. But then the battery got weak and wouldn't turn it over. I then tried jumping it from my truck ... it turned over...

    "Blow by" question

Can someone explain to me how to reliably check for "blow by" on a Kubota V1702 ... its in a Bobcat that is getting harder and harder to start when cold. It doesn't seem to be using oil but I have taken the oil filler plug out while it was running and did feel air coming from there in sync with...

    Longer lift arms for 6500

I was just wondering if longer lift arms can be fitted to a 6500. The orginals seem short to me (we have a MF 240 and those seem proportionally longer). I guess I'm worried about messing up pre-calibrated geometry. If anyone knows or has experience with this, how about commenting, Thanks, Roger

    6500 problem

All, Thanks in advance for any help: My 6500 (30hrs) has started randomly missing at higher RPM (most of the time somewhere over 1500 rpm). When it does miss, it has no power and will blow a small amount of blue/gray smoke. This seems to be more prevalent when the tractor is under load...

Problem on new 6500 ... is it time to panic ?

All, After waiting for 2.5 weeks for my tractor, it was delivered this morning. It has all of 15 minutes on the meter and the transmision has malfunctioned (to put it nicely). Here's what happened: backed the tractor up to a rotary cutter ... got the 3 point hitch hooked up to the mower...

    New 6500 Break-in

All, I am taking delivery of a new 6500 2-wheel drive today. It will be used for general agriculture type work (moving hay, cultivation etc). I can't locate any specific break-in instructions in the owners manual ... does anyone have advice or know any specific instruction on breaking these...

need help deciding: MF vs Mahindra

Ok, I can't decide. The choices are between a MF 573 and Mahindra 6500 (both 2wd with loaders). The Mahindra is ~$5500 less expensive, but I will admit the MF seems a bit heavier in the rear end (at least a 471 does, I haven't actually seen the 573, but the dealer says its about the same as far...

    Bio-diesel in a Mahindra

I was noticing that some of the other tractor manufactures are certifying their tractors for certain percentages of bio-diesel ... I don't see anything official from Mahindra and was just wondering if any currect owners are using bio-dsl to some degree and what are your results, Thanks, Roger

    Decision: 6500/2wd vs 6520/2wd

All, I'm trying to decide between a 6500 and 6520 ... both with loaders. Bells and whistles are not important to me (as on the 6520), but the 6520 is a heavier tractor, rear end seems much stouter and it has a much higher max lift capacity. I will never lift anything heavy enough to break...
