I’m looking for advice. Well is over 100 years old, very nicely constructed. The depth to top of muck is 14 feet, about 3-4 feet of muck. Wondering about buying a better wet vac to DIY or should I just hire a vacuum truck outfit?
Thanks, Tim
This infested area is not smooth level ground. Mostly it's rocky, uneven, heck it's a mess. I've spent several days digging out the the root balls (rhizome) in the one area that is in accessible ground.. I want to hear success stories, I hope there are some...
Anyone ever have one? and how long till you experienced relief?
I overdid some heavy lifting at work and someone walked up behind me and jabbed me in the left side neck/shoulder area with a cattle prod :hot:..not really I'm kidding..but it sure felt like it..:( It's been about three...
"today's post", "new posts", "alerts", "my home", "members" etc.. None of the buttons on that row work for me, except "my profile".
Do I need to change something on my pc?
I miss being able to see all the recent threads at the click of a button.
Been thinking about building a woodshed.
The problem is I'm already close to max with the other necesary jobs that have to be done... and I work 5 days, so it's only 2 days a week to do it all in... Sometimes I force myself to do more than the necessary after work chores, but at my age...
This is for the guys (or gals) that aren't sure what poison ivy looks like.
For those of us that know all to well what this green scourge of stone walls (roadsides, the edge of fields, and anywhere else it grows) looks like, don't point it out too quickly.
The plant is in this picture I took...
I feel like an idiot. My laptop was acting up for a few days and I didn't take it seriously. I knew better..I was lazy.
I had downloaded all the parts manuals for my L35tlb off the web and did not save it on a removable medium, it's no longer available free (at least I can't find it). :(
I'm...
Check the news, big explosion.
My good friend is a welder on the site. He had today off, but several of his close friends worked today. He received a phone call from one friend on site that was injured, and was told that a couple of his friends died in the explosion. We're trying to find out...
My house was built in 1850..
I've known about two old wells on the home property, an older well (a good walk from the house) has been filled in many years ago, but this one was covered with old rotted planks and then had some rocks on top of the wood. I walk by it all the time going to the barn...
I've tentatively made up my mind and am looking at box blades (not written in stone). A thousand dollars sounds better than 3K right now, so a special arena tool isn't on the list (for now).
I have a short list of manufacturers: Land Pride, Befco, Bush Hog, United, Taylor Way, Woods, Frontier...
I have a Kubota L35 that I purchase used. It has a QA backhoe bucket system but I'm not sure of the brand, it looks like a Wain Roy set up, the buckets have GP on the side. Anyone know where I can buy one? I'm looking for a 30-36" bucket for it (I have a 12" and a 18")
The hole is 4 1/8" by 8 1/8"
The title is what I'm interested in..without spending more than I have to.
Seems to me someone must offer something rugged enough for.. say, tree work..ie: chainsaw: enviroment. It would be nice to point out something to a worker without screaming (or throwing a stone at em';) ) It...
...about greasing one of the zerks on the backhoe.
The lower swing pivot zerk has little room above it, no way can I get my cordless gun's fitting on it. Normally I'd use my slide on fitting (designed for similar situations) but the zerk is recessed too far, won't fit.
The previous owner...
The only concrete work I've done so far was sonotubes to anchor my pipe frame horse barn. This time I need a slab 25' x 30'. I'll have someone else do the pour, I want to do all the prep work. I'll be getting a carport soon.
My tractors have been kicked out of the barn to make room for hay...so...
Okay, My new to me Kubota L35 has a Curtis cab, the problem is it's missing the wiper blade. The arm is there, I'm sure the wiper motor works, the previous owner wrapped tape over the arm end and there is a mark on the windshield where the tape moved in it's arc.
Not having any luck locally...
Just thought I'd relate my experience getting a Kubota L35TLB 380 miles. Bought it after finding it on line, made the seller promise not to sell it until I drove down to looksee, I kept in touch while driving down in the gas sipper.
It was just what I wanted.... 2004 with 272 hours, set up...
Hi guys, I just looked at a L35, I was told it's a 2003,but when I pressed him, he told me he wasn't sure..
Any idea where I can look up serial numbers and figure out the year? I'll buy it if it is a 2003.
I wrote down the serial number of the tractor, the loader, and the b/hoe. I didn't write...
Okay, I'm getting a little foolish in my old age.
A 1966 IH 424 with a gas engine, has a real heavy duty looking loader on it, with float.
Needs a waterpump, (and maybe a thousand other things,) but appears to be pretty solid, didn't want to run it long because the w/p shaft is flopping a bit...
Hey guys,gals;
Anyone have any knowledge about voltage in the water from a stock tank de-icer?
For about 3 weeks after we installed it we had no obvious problem, then my wife noticed one of our horses acting funny while taking a drink. He was cautiously licking the water with a (this ain't...
Anyone else having a hard time this season?
Was doing good for a couple years, but had a bad time in the spring, got over it though, however this fall it's really bad. Feels like my eyes are being pushed outa me head..

One of our horses developed a temperature (102.7) and is slightly jaundice. The Vet mentioned that Red Maple (one of the most numerous trees on our property) is poisonous to Equines. We're not sure what's wrong with him yet, but if it is from the Maple trees I'd like to do something besides...
Well, for a couple weeks this, new to me, "69" 110 would start after cranking for 5-15 seconds, now not so much. Will crank and crank, smell of gas, I'll remove plug and clean, crank engine w/out plug, put it back and maybe will start up. (Runs fine when it starts). Not exactly my idea of a...
I've been there many times just looking, went to find it yesterday and nada. Did Deere site change? I had the ones I wanted to buy all picked out, poof..gone...The John Deere Home Page
What am I not doing..or what am I doing wrong?
Thanks...
Well guys I just went and looked at a very well kept "69" jd 110. I felt the engine before the seller started it, very cool to touch (started right up, no tapping, smoke, everything works, etc.)
I'm mulling it over, but I guess the real issue is this one slope. My cratfsman LT2000 stalls going...
Found this under earth next to a stonewall the wife and i opened. Also found a license plate in same area, some other metal objects etc.

It's a radiator cap-hood ornament, not sure what it belongs to. I'm guessing 1930 something.
Hope this link works..maybe someone will find this helpful..I have no connection with tractor, just thought I'd pass it on..:D

I had to do it! It was right there, right where the outside stall door is going, the stall, where the wife wants her much loved arab horse to live..................First the backhoe, dug around, snapped quite a few roots, but couldn't manage the big ones, and for added digging pleasure, it was...
My SIL ordered a troy bilt chipper (6.5 hp) for us (really for my wife) from TSC. We have many small piles of branches , the wife wanted to be able to make mulch . I had hoped to get something larger , but free is free. Now the question, any problems with this equiptment I need to know about...
Hoping to get some help from the combined experience of TBN members. I will be buying a trailer to tote the tractor with backhoe & FEL 50 miles at least a couple times a year.. I find if I lived down south I'd pay 1500-1900 for a new 17-18' with brakes on both axles. However I'm not getting the...

I was clearing some brush just inside an old fence line by the road halfway down my property, and under some old heavy debris I found this.
and a closer shot of the working end.
The house was built in the 1850's so this could be pretty old,pre-tractor maybe?
It's very heavy duty about an inch...
Was having a good day. The backhoe was working great!
Dug one 5 foot hole for sonotube and base..then saw the puddle under boom. Found the leak at the hydraulic cylinder lower banjo fitting. NAPA had the brass washers got six, just in case, removed fitting-scraped off paint covering washer...
Hey guys
Recently I decided to replace the dryrotted turf tires with R4's. After speaking with my dealer, they told me the rims and/or tires are NLA.
I did some research. First I had to find the mfwd ratio just to be sure. I called the dealer again, and was told they couldn't find the info, I...
Hey guys :
I have an older JD 770 4WD with dryrotted turf's in rear. I've priced out new, but I really think I need to, take the $ pain and, buy new or used rims w/R4's.
The rears are 13.6-16 with 12" rims.. frts 23x8.50-14 w/ 8" rims.
on titan site found 12.4-16 R4's but needs 11" rims...
hi guys
been enjoying reading you all on tbn, and now it' time for me to ask a (maybe) simple question.
in my operator's manual, in section on operating on slopes&rough terrain, it says to move wheels to wide position. then it says "see adjusting wheel spacing in this section.
