    Log splitter valve detent

    I have a 25-30 year old wood splitter works good for me except, the return detent does not hold any more. It's a cross valve, and I can't seem to find an exploded parts picture to be able to take it apart. If it's repairable, some adjustment or get a new one?

    Old wood hauler

    It went on the the trailer just fine, yes the frame looked bad but the truck looked, sat normal. Stopped to unload it and popped the rear strap and it collapsed :eek:. So anybody looking for a fixer upper, Runs great :D

    Is there a way to id a cylinder with out knowing what you have? I have two used cylinders to use on my dump trailer, seemed in good shape. But the packing is bad on one of the cylinders. Can you get a generic packing kit, if you know the dimensions? Thanks

    Gooseneck on bumper? Just wondering if I can pull a gooseneck with the ball on my pintle hitch. I found a good deal on a trailer but I haven't got the hitch set upon the truck. Empty trailer, just to get it home.

    4310 Front axle

    I had the seal go out on the rt. front hub. I have the manual and thought, I can do this my self. Everything went well, the seal was 25.00 and some oil. To press it apart I used a gear puller. To put it back together just some heat to slide everything back together.

    Tail lights

    I haven't seen this mod and if I missed it, sorry. After hitting the tail lights a few times on trees, I moved the lights to the inside of the rops. Haven't had a problem since :D

    Lost 3pt pin, replace with bolt?

    I was pushing snow with the bb and lost the the pin that connects the lower arm to the lift arm. It's a 5/8''x 2'' pin, can it be replaced with a bolt? Or just make a pin out of a bolt? And if I can, is a grade 8 the bolt to use? JD wants 14.00 for the pin, I have the bolt to make the pin. thanks

    Is there any way to tell if I have a two speed pump on my log splitter. No name on the pump, it's about 30 yrs old, newer 9 hp motor, not home made. I am using it more and it is under powered and a slow cycle time. So I am wondering if a new pump would help? Thanks

    Why did I wait so long

    This weekends project was a welding table 3'x5'x1/2'' The first problem I see is I had 4 swivel wheels without locks, might have to change them.

    I took everyones advice about adding weight to box blade and it works great for what I need. So then how about adding weight to a rear blade, I did and it is much better, and added a stand. I don't have pictures of the box blade yet.

    I am looking a getting a tiller, a used one, any make about 5'. And I want to get a flail mower. So my thought is, can I, or has anybody re-geared a tiller to speed it up to be used as a flail mower? And replacing the tiller tines with flail blades.

    These are some pictures of the first project for my tractor, adding some counter weight to my 4310. One scrap bridge bearing pad 2.25" by 24" by 41" = about 625#. Some scrap angle, rod, and 2x4's. Cost about 10.00 for primer and paint.
