    5300 losing power/stalling.

I've never had my tractor on the road to have it in high speed. I run my tractor in the "B" selection. Most times in 2nd. Yesterday I was moving hay around and fuel was getting low. I got a wild hair and decided to drive the tractor to the store. On the street I shifted into "C" and 3rd and it...

How to set up my mx6 cutter to cut hay?

It was in the plans to buy a disc mower this year. Over the last year I've bought a JD 255 disc, a spreader, a few pieces of hay equiment, and the money got tight. Which was ok. I had a back up plan that my neighbor that always cuts for me would do it. Now I have to do it myself. I was told when...

Best way to connect water drainages to pond.

THe area around my pond is just about the highest point on my land. All my drainages are at least 4' lower. I have rain run off of roughly 1000 acres running straight thru my place. Last year my pond got as low as the drainages durning the drought and this year it got about 3' low. I'm really...

    5300 and 5400 2.9L engines.

What difference in the 5400's 2.9L engine causes it to take 2.5 qts more of oil than the 2.9L in the 5300? Can the turbo require that much oil? The reason I ask is cause this morning I changed the oil on my 5300. The manual says it takes 6.3 qts of oil. Guess what? Just barely on the dip stick...

I built a post hole digger a few years ago to help me build a barn. I did'nt have a tractor a buddy brought over his MF 431. It...

    Pto woodchipper suggestions

Does anybody have any suggestions on a pto driven woodchipper? Last Oct. I had 6 acres of hardwoods cleared. The loggers left quit a mess. Burning is not much of a solution for me at the time. When I can burn usually my area is under a burn ban. The chipper is going to have to be a heavy duty...

    In retrospect.

In light of everything. I moved some trees that I had cleared around and done alittle bushhogging. I must say the machine is fine. I do see where I'm going to miss the shuttle shift that was on the 5310. I think I found a grove though. I chose B range and using 2nd gear I could shift between 2nd...

John Deere 5310 injector pump woes?

Hi guys, I'm looking at buying a 2000 5310 w/ 1900 hrs on it w/ a 520 loader. This machine is super clean. The bucket does'nt even have scuffs on it. Makes me think either the bucket was'nt used or its a replacement. The loader arms and other panels on the tractor does'nt have any scuffs either...
