    Fixed grapple

Has anyone built a "non-hydraulic", fixed grapple that attaches to your front end loader arms? I have been watching a contractor tear down our old high school using a large backhoe with a fixed thumb. It seems to work very well for him and I think it should work fairly well on a FEL. Thanks

    Man up

How many of you with a 2305 have never or very seldom grease the driveline u-joints? You know, the one near the starter ring and the one in front of the transmission cooling fan. The u-joints are just the right size to make it nearly impossible to get a grease gun nose on the zerk. I had to...

    Plans

Does anyone know where plans for building one of these can be found? Thanks http://www.mytractorforum.com/showthread.php?t=49883

    Don't laugh

This is a combination of an old AC planter frame, Ford cultivator parts, an old water tank section for the moldboard, and a discarded motorgrader cutting edge. I am into taking useless stuff and making something else out of it. The lean of the blade is extremely forward on purpose. I recently...

Hopefully these pics will post for me. This is only a prototype. The next one will be made as one detachable assembly.

    MMM lift on 2305

2305, hydraulic lift, 54"mmm. 35hrs. on tractor At slow rpm joystick lifts mower quickly. At mowing rpm mower lifts very slowly. This is a new problem in last few hrs. I haven't changed hyd. oil or filters yet. Please don't tell me the filter is plugged. That would mean deeper problems...

    Arm rest

My new JD 2305 was needing an arm rest. Seems they don't come with one from the factory. Think the wife will notice anything missing from her computer chair when she gets home? There is two existing bolt holes in the rops located just perfectly to bolt the arm to.

    Put it back on

The "Take it all off" thread is fascinating. Is there a way to plate a finish back on using a similar technique?

    Just wondering

Has anyone mounted a boxblade in place of your FEL bucket? Seems it would easily done and really easy to use.

When you bought your new tractor

How did you break the engine in? Or did you? If you bought a rear mower did you instantly run it at rated PTO speed and load?

    Ok, 1 more theoretical ?

and then I'll quit. Maybe. It is hard on a gasoline engine to run it without a muffler. Why?

    Nuther ?

This may be the wrong place to post this, but anyway. We all know that a two wheel tractor with a FEL always pushes to load the bucket. A MFWD sometimes pushes and sometimes pulls the bucket to load it. Now, with that said, does a horse (with full time 4wd BTW) push or pull a plow?

    True or false ?

In a well designed engine there is no actual metal to metal contact between any two moving parts. I was told this many years ago. Never really thought about it.

    Pto speed linear?

Does ground speed and pto speed remain linear across the full range of engine rpm's? I've never had my tractor fully up to rated pto speed (engine rpm) while using my rotary cutter. It seems to me a waste of fuel and wear and tear on the equipment to run the engine at rated rpm. You must...

    Moderators

I have a couple of pics of plans for a log hauler that I would like to post. These are scanned from a magazine dated 1985. Can I post them without getting anyone in trouble for copyright type stuff? I think the hauler is a really good project and would like everyone to see them, but want to...

    Front end blades

I have read alot of threads here but don't recall any about replacing the FEL bucket with a dozer blade. Is there a reason we don't want to do that?

    Just asking

According to my operators manual, adjusting the sway chains (rods, chains, turnbuckles, whatever your case may be) too short will not allow the three point arms to raise fully. Assume that I also have the leveling link adjusted slightly shorter than the non-adjustable side. It would seem more...
