    Idea for new forum

After following a thread on another forum (accuratereloading.com) where a member suffered the theft of his tractor and it's return a week or so later, I'm proposing that TractorByNet open a forum dedicated to allowing owners to post when/where/identifying info on stolen tractors and other...

    Unabashed Endorsement.....

Last week Friday, I went to my local Kubota dealer, Kubota of Knoxville, to buy a new rotary cutter. Found a Landpride RCR1872 that fit all my criteria, agreed on a price, and shook on the deal. The salesman told me they didn't have a mechanic on duty on Saturday to set the cutter up, and...

    4 x 4 Carry All...

I had a need for a large carry all for my MX4700. I learned to gas weld in my teens, welding expansion chambers on my MX bikes, but I had never learned to stick or MIG weld. Until now. Well, some would say I STILL haven't learned how to mig weld. I bought a Lincoln Weld-Pak 3200HD last year...

    All metal carry-all. Welding questions....

I'm making a 48" by 48" by 16" carry-all on top of a TSC carry-all frame. The frame rails are 3" angle, 3/16" thick. The TSC frame is 1/4". My first welds are a 4' 3x3 to the TSC frame. I'm using a Lincoln 3200HD with flux core wire. I don't think I'm getting enough penetration of the TSC...

    Which backhoe attachment?

I'm in the very early stages of thinking about getting a backhoe for my MX4700. I'm thinking something in the 9-10' range. Any opinions out there on the Kubota vs. Woods vs. ???? TIA....

    County line PHD...

I recently bought a new PHD from TSC and used it today for the first time. After 7 holes, I hit some rock and snapped the first shear pin. Drilled about 10 more holes, hit some more rock, lost shear pin #2. About 5 more holes, shear pin #3. On the very last hole (about number 30), I hit some...

    Odd hydraulic action today...

I've got a new MX4700 with a Long grapple. I recently had to replace a pinched hose on the grapple. I used it today for the first time since replacing the hose. At first, everything worked normally, but after about 10 minutes (and shutting the tractor off) the FEL would barely lift, the...

    MX4700 or L3940?

Hi all: I'm about to purchase a new Kubota, just not sure which one. I have a L2800 now and love it, just not enough tractor. I have 25 acres, mostly wooded, hilly to steep. I've had about 4 acres cleared for pasture and hope to build a house, pole barn, and horse shelter. My tasks for the...

    Landscape timbers for electric fence?

I'm getting ready to build about 1500 feet of fence for my horse pasture. There will initially be two strands of 1 1/2" electric tape on the posts. Eventually, there may also be 4.25" Ramm fence, alternating Ramm-tape-Ramm-tape-Ramm. The Ramm fencing is reinforced (3 12.5 guage steel wires)...

A Field for Toby, Part X...

A couple of years ago, I bought 25 acres of woods, with the plan of clearing about 4 acres for pasture for my horse, Toby. I had a man come in last fall and do the heavy clearing with a large hi-lift and excavator. I am now in the process of clearing a drainage to build a pond, dig some...

    PTO question

Hi, all. I have a newer L2800 that I took in a few weeks ago for its first service (it has a whopping 41 hours on it). Since I got it back, the PTO will not disengage, it is constantly turning. Also, the 3 pt hitch doesn't seem to have much lift range or power. What did they screw up? TIA Mike

    Clearing woods, building a pond

I'm moving this from the Kubota forum. I've got 25 acres of woods that I want to partially clear, including a gravel drive onto a small knob, clearing a building site, digging a pond, leveling about 2 acres for pasture and/or large garden. The woods contain all sizes of primarily hardwoods...
