    8122 Gravely Engine Problem

The piece that operates the fuel pump is broken off on my Kohler K301 12 HP engine in my Gravely 8122. Does anyone know of an easy electric pump conversion, or how hard it would be to replace the broken part? I assume it is part of the crankshaft.

Loader  Front End Loader Rubber Edge Strip?

Does anyone know if a non-metallic edge strip is available for the FEL? I would like to be able to clear snow from our colored concrete pad without marking it. I have a BX22.

    Added Too Much Engine Oil

I put in too much engine oil after a change. I didn't wait long enough for it to get to the pan. The level is just over 1/8" above the top mark. I'm wondering if this could be harmful to the engine?

Oil & Fuel  Maintenance - Replace Fuel Filters?

Has anyone replaced one or both fuel filters on a BX-22 or equivalent? Per the maintenance schedule, they are to be "checked" at 200 hours which seems impractical. The plastic is not too clear! They only cost $5.00 each, and per the parts guy system bleeding will not be necessary. He said...

    Steering Problem?

I found the steering wheel on my BX-22 can still be turned easily after the wheels have stopped. This doesn't seem right. With the engine off, it still can be turned with the wheels at the stop, but doesn't sound good. If this isn't as it should be, any repair suggestions would be...

    60" MMM Spindle Disassembly

60\" MMM Spindle Disassembly Does anyone know how to take off the bottom flange (under the deck) of the center spindle on the BX 60" mower deck? Does the gearbox have to be disassembled? Removing the 4 bolts doesn't do it.

    Toe In & Battery

I did the 100 hour oil change on my BX22, along with some other checks. I found the toe in was 3/4" rather than the 1/16" to 3/8" specified This is the tread width at the front of the front tires compared to across the back. The back should be larger. I measured it with the lug tires...

    Backhoe  Backhoe Removal

The BX-22 instructions for backhoe removal specify curling the bucket fully, and lowering the boom to slightly raise the back end of the tractor. The back of the bucket supposedly rests on the ground, but actually when I do this the load is taken by the link connection at the end of the...

    50 Hour Service Spares

I just did the 50 hour engine and hydraulic oil services. One suggestion I haven't seen posted before is to have a spare hydraulic drain plug washer. Mine has a rubber seal at the ID which was peeling off a small thread. I reused it, but would have replaced it if readily available. Also, get...

    New BX22 Front Wheels Defective

I bought a set of turf tires for my BX22 when I added a MMM. I used them last year, but when putting them on this year realized the hubs were not sitting flat against the axle. The center holes, which go on a fit, were not round but had a flat spot about 1 1/2 inches long on one side. I...

    Grease cylinder rods for storage?

I have the loader and backhoe removed from my BX22 until after the fall leaf deluge. I have the MMM and a Trac Vac mounted. The manuals recommend applying grease to the cylinder piston rods for storage. They will be sitting, indoors, for about 2 months. Is this really necessary? My Dad has...
