My brakes have started making a grabbing noise. Where do you check the fluid for the brakes? and what fluid is supposed to keep them wet?

New here with a question. Has anyone ever replaced a belt on a Hesston 5530? If so, how hard is it and what do I need to do to loosen the tension on the machine? Thanks
