    Faulty antibackfire solenoid?

I'm trying to retro-fit a Honda GX 390 engine with a carburetor fitted w/solenoid. This has been a 5 yr project, mostly on the back burner. I purchased 2 (at different times) carbs with antibackfire solenoids. These are Chinese products. Neither of the solenoids work properly, in fact they work...

    Hot Top

Has anyone with a cab tractor insulated the underside of the roof? I find that even during the winter here in FL, the space between the ceiling and roof heats up readily on sunny days. It would be nice to use forced cool air from outside on a 50 or 60 deg day but as the "attic" heats so too does...

    ?? Battery ??

Well the inevitable is happening. My XR4040 needs a new battery; it's about 4 3/4 yrs old. Two questions for anyone who has replaced theirs - 1) As a matter of curiosity, what kind of battery is it (?) AGM or sealed flooded. 2) Where did you buy it? I spent an hour today between Advance Auto...

    Electrical quandry

Subject tractor: XR4040C. A couple of weeks ago I moved some cows for a neighbor (2 short trips) - instead of hooking the stock trailer to the truck I chose to do the move with the tractor. While on public roads, about 15 min. per trip, the hazard lights were used. When I was returning to the...

    Hay rakes

I know this is a matter of personal preference but I'd like to "hear" your thoughts on wheel hay rakes vs rotary rakes. I realize that wheel rakes can come in very large configurations for obvious reasons. We hay between 8 and 15 acres so it's small enough to consider both. Thanks

    Beginner - Haying

I'd like to say that I have only one question about my new endeavor but ... Anyway, I've purchased a disk mower but don't know what height to set it for cutting a Bahia pasture. In years past we've had others hay the property and it looks like they were leaving about a 2" stubble. So, does the...

    3 point problems

I hope someone here can lead me in the right direction for what I consider to be an inexcusable problem. Brandy new XR4040C straight from North Carolina. The problem: with nothing attached to the 3 pt hitch it raises and lowers as you would expect, however attach an implement with some weight...

    Cleaning fuel screen

Does anyone know what solvent to use to clean the fuel screen that's located at the fuel opening on the tank? I've tried mineral spirits, brake pad cleaner and acetone. Acetone appears to be dissolving the waxy residue but I'm a little concerned about it's effects on the screen.

    Oil drain plug/plags?

Here I am on the eve of the 50 hr. maintenance and am certain I saw two 2 oil drain plugs. Can this be? The manual for my R3039 doesn't state so but the profile illustration on page 5 - 17 has the plug in the same postion relative to the oil filter. Am I mistaken in thinking that the oil pan is...

    What size wheel (rim)?

I have broken the front wheel/rim on my TU 150FD. The Ag tire that was mounted on it originally is a 5x12 and the current turf tire is a 6x12. Two questions: 1) what size rim is it and 2) does anyone have an idea as to where I might find one? Thanks, Mark

    Flow rate - TU150

Does anyone know the hydraulic flow rate and working pressure for an Iseki TU150FD? Also, is the hydraulic filter located under the floor on the left side, on the suction side or return? What is the NAPA (or other) part #?

    Mitsubishi K3C engine specs

Does anyone have engine specs for the K3C engine? My mechanic needs the idle speed and the injector pop off pressure. I told him that I idle the tractor at 1000 rpm or higher. As to pop off pressure - I never heard the term before today. Thanks, Mark

    Gradual worsening white exhaust smoke

I think I read somewhere that white exhaust smoke can be caused by an injection pump that requires adjusting/timing. When I purchased my Iseki, with a Mitsubishi K3C engine, 3 yrs ago I would get black smoke when a load was put on it. Then in the last year and half or so I'm getting white...

    Ignition Switch/Keys

I've just replaced the ailing ignition switch on my TU150D. If anyone needs a switch and 2 keys... The switch does work, it just takes a couple attempts to start.

    Tu 150 ignition

Here goes. Problem: When rotating the ignition key forward to start the tractor, the entire ignition switch turns as well. It's getting to the point where I can't rotate my wrist far enough to reach the START position. The switch and the hole through the steering column cover (which...

    I'm ecstatic...

Hello all, After owning my TU150FD for 2 years now I finally stumbled across this forum which is outstanding. I purchased the tractor to cut grass primarily and for a multitude of other projects requiring the loader, which makes me an occasional user. It's been a bit of a struggle to maintain...
