    String Trimmers

I bought a EGO 56V a couple years ago and love it. The main reason I love it is the super easy way you change the string. Mine is manual reload but they make a power reload also. To reload you cut about a 10 foot piece of string - push it in one side of the spool and out the other side. Even it...

X500 Will not start when hot - please help

My X300 should be quite similar as it has a Kawi engine. Mine will not start when hot unless I choke it!. The manual says to choke it also hot or cold. works every time. If it was hot and only turned off for a very short time(a minute or 2) it may start without the choke.

Power Line to my house was broken

Electricity runs from the hot wire - through item in your house like motors, light bulbs etc, then back on the neutral line. In your fuse/circuit breaker panel the neutral is connected to a ground wire and most cases there is a ground rod connected also right by the box that the power lines...

Hot water heater leaking at relief valve

you definitely need an expansion tank. With a backflow preventer the hot water needs someplace to "Expand", the pressure relief valve would be the only place and start dripping. When it is dripping turn on a hop water faucet and see if the dripping stops.

    Circular saw arbor problem

Had a similar problem with a dado set and needed to increase the holes in the blades. Bought a tapered reamer and put in my cordless drill and did the hole enlarging in a few seconds. Really even and smooth holes. Cost about $15. Just get one the size you need (3/4)

    How to enlarge existing hole?

Buy a reamer of the correct size it will be tapered slightly but will be round. Ream also from the other side will help get rid of much of the taper. I used mine to enlarge some old saw blades to fit my new one. it cut very fast - put in my 1/2 inch drill. They are inexpensive also...

    Wood Screws

Back about 1985 or so where I worked they wanted to switch screw heads so the robots could more easily assemble the units. Snow Plow for Deere X300

Fitting a Murray Snow Plow to a John Deere X300 I posted this on here 5 years ago, but all the details pointed to my old web page. So I decided to repost it. Smooth yard with sprinkler system

Well it's been a year now since I filled the holes and ruts. I did not try top dressing yet as other projects have taken priority. I did find the Deere 40 inch shovel to be useful last winter when we had 5 inches of snow, rare for southern Tennessee. I cleared my short driveway and sidewalk...

    tow behind top dressing leveller/spreader

I had a similar need, smoothing the yard. Used a leftover A frame from a swing set, really did a good job of spreading and leveling. I used the bucket on my tractor to put out piles of top soil and then pulled the A frame. I used a chain to pull it as it made it easy to adjust the angle of the A...

    Household Septic System

A house I moved into had no record of where the tank was. We had 3 plumbers come out and even with the electronic tracer unit they missed the tank by over 10 ft. Finally found the company that had pumped it out years ago. They sent out the old timmer and in about 5 minutes he found it. It was in...

    Smooth yard with sprinkler system

Thanks Dutch 445, the idea of a bucket won. I bought a Deere 40 inch bucket. The Swisher was cheaper but didn't have down force if I used my winch and would need to make a mount for the bucket and winch. The Johnny Bucket Jr would be good, but cost about $400 more than the Deere. The Deere is...

    Smooth yard with sprinkler system

I've searched for smoothing a yard and all the ways suggested would destroy a sprinkler system. I just bought a new house in TN, I have about 3/4 acre of lawn - fescue. Neighbors said the previous owners had tons of trees planted and removed many, I also took out 6. So the yard has pot holes...

Received the limit switch from China:( It is a woble stick with a spring actuator. The hole for the wires is metric so I so I ground down the threads of a 1/2 inch fitting and forced it in.
