John Deere X744 AWS- Change from 26x10.50-12 to 26x12-12

John Deere X744 AWS-I can't find any information on changing from the Turf tires which are 26x10.50-12 to a Carlisle 26x12-12 Tru Power Lug which is more of a Ag tire. Anyone change to a 26x12-12 without clearance issues with the AWS or other issues? Thanks! I also put this in the tire forum...

    X744 PTO Generator

Probably an old subject, but I cannot find the definitive answer. John Deere once sold a PTO Generator for the X700 series tractor. My understand is you need 2HP per 1KW and that would mean you need 20HP at the PTO to operate a 10KW. My research indicates the X700 series produces 18HP at the...

    DR Log Splitter

Does anyone know the psi of the hydraulics on X700's? I'm considering the DR Log Splitter that runs off of the hydraulics on the 3 point hitch, I maybe moving to 40 acres in Montana with trees close to the Canadian border. And yes, a FWD X749 would have been a better choice over a X744, but at...

    Proper chain size

I want to put chains on the front of my X744 with a 54 inch plow. The tire size is 18x7-8. The chains I can find for Snowblowers are either 18x8-8 or 18x6.50-8. I suspect the 18x6.50x8 would be a better fit. Any thoughts, thanks!

44 inch snow caster mounted on LA115

You will have to send pictures of snow, lol. Here's my X700 with it's all new snow removal stuff. You had very little of snow this year. I posted this pic on another thread. Jim

    Deluxe High Back Seat

I pretty much know the Deluxe High Back Seat is great. But, I'm curious if anyone has actually opted to retro fit their X-700 series with one. I'm thinking about it, but at $595.00 for the Seat and $135.00 for the seat rail assembly unit, I'm somewhat reluctant. My yard is pretty bumpy and I...

54 inch john deere snow plow wear edge

My local dealer had a used 54 inch plow for sale, I decided to take a look at it and noted the skids and asked how much wear was left on them, he said about 30% and the blade edge was also fairly worn after 3 seasons of use. I decided to buy a new one and I've had it for about one week. We've...

X700 Series Hydraulic Lock Out Valve AM134625 Installation

I live about 55 miles one way from the closest Dealer and have average mechanical abilities. Here's a picture of the elbow that is removed to install the Lock Out Valve. Jim

Snow Equipment Owning/Operating  Please Educate me!

I am totally new to plowing snow. I have a X744 with a 54 inch plow. I'm sure most of you are familar with this, totally hydraulic. Here are the questions I have. 1) Floating, I assume this has to do with keeping the blade at a distance from the surface being plowed, whether 1/2 an inch to 3 to...

    Block Heater Yanmar X744

I'm considering installing a block heater and wondering if anyone else has done this installation. While I love the John Deere Tractor, I do wish they would provide PDF files for folks to look at and installation instructions on their website. It would be helpful, rather than looking at the...

    X744 Wheel Spacer Kit

The John Deere Accessories Catalog lists wheel spacer BM22725 as necessary on the X729 and the X749. I assume it is an oversight that it does not list this as necessary on all four wheel steer tractors to clear the rear tie rods when installing chains. Am I correct in needing the wheel spacer...

    John Deere Accessories

I'm going to need to purchase a 47 inch snowblower with all the items for it, including the quick attachment device, chains, weights for my x744. Should I expect to pay full retail for any accessories for my Garden Tractor or not? I know when you buy new tractor with accessories, the Dealers...

    62C Deck Adjustment

I recently purchased a X744 with only 50 hours on it from a John Deere Dealer. I decided to check the blades and the overall condition of the mowing deck. First of all, I found the lift arms up against the metal stops which is not supposed to happen, there is to be at least 1/16 inch space. I...

Anyone tried that Agri Fab SmartLink system? It looks like a good way to reduce the amount of space attachments take up. Any responses, appreciated.

    Which to buy?- X534-X724

First of all, I was pretty sold on a X534 with 48 inch deck, but things have become a little more confusing for me. While I only have 1/2 acre to mow with lots of obstacles and maybe 200 feet of snow to move in front of my house frequently in the winter time, I'm thinking the X724 with a 52 inch...

    Buying Advice  X534

I am new to Lawn Tractors and after hours of research decided a John Deere X534 would be the best for my needs. I will be buying the following items with the tractor: 1) 48 inch blade with tilting accessory; 2) 47 inch snow blower; 3) Grill Cover; 4) Chains; 5) Rear weight bracket; 6) two 42 lbs...
