    Mahindra 5010 after Report -- 3 1/2 years running

Don't know if it is the same problem I had with my PTO but I lost it as well. Look just in front of the right rear tire. I found this one wire with a connector. The connector had come loose as it got hooked on some brush. (poor design in my estimation by Mahindra). Once I plugged that in, my PTO...

Mahindra Losing Power - Continued - Solved

Got the tractor back yesterday. Yes, I ended up taking to the dealer about 25 miles away. For those who said the original Mahindra low pressure electrical lift pump never goes bad - well, it does. And for those who said, "just buy the $15 generic one from that jungle website since the Mahindra...

    Mahindra 5010 after Report -- 3 1/2 years running

Just came across your thread and videos. Thanks for the effort you put into that. I have the exact same tractor you have - 2012 Mahindra 5010 gear drive. I bought it used here in Tennessee two years ago with 500 hrs on it and now have about 700 hrs kind of like you. Although I'm a Montana...

Mahindra Losing Power - Continued - Solved

No, I haven't but it's a good suggestion. At this point it is out of my hands. I took the tractor to the shop and hope to hear from them what it is. I'll post an update when I know. Thanks.

Thank you but as I stated, "I've had the fuel tank off and washed out, all lines are free" Thanks anyway.

Mahindra Losing Power - Continued - Solved

Thanks for the reply, Sorry for the delay - traveling a bunch. The exhaust seems to be free when it is running. I can even idle it at PTO speeds in the shop with no smoke or hesitation. But once under load - that's a different story. Still seems like it's pulling air from somewhere. And it...

    Mahindra Losing Power - Continued

I agree, it does act like it's pulling air. Initially it was the filter and that gasket behind the selector switch. But that has not been replaced. So, it is post-filter and I haven't found it yet. But still looking. Thanks.

    Mahindra Losing Power - Continued

Sorry for the long delay, was traveling and hunting. I don't have that same setup for where the fuel comes in - between the booster pump and the injection pump. Mine looks like this. Mine's a lot less complicated than yours. I crack this 17mm to bleed the system. I did pull the line between...

Mahindra Losing Power - Continued - Solved

I posted a few months ago about a 2012 Mahindra 5010 with 690 hours on it losing power. It starts and idles fine but if you put it under any load, including even running it down the road in 2nd gear with nothing attached, it bogs down like it is not getting fuel. That thread is here. A...

    Mahindra losing power

UPDATE: I appreciate everyone's input - even those people who didn't read what I wrote before responding with ideas I said I already did. ;) I found the issue. Realizing that I was getting air into the fuel filter bowl and it wasn't staying full, I assumed it was a weak low pressure fuel pump...

    Losing power

Tinhack, thanks for the reply. As stated, there is no smoke but there is a smell of diesel. I'm the second owner so I don't know about the break-in period however the guy I got it from strikes me as a conscientious fellow that probably followed the maintenance schedule. Correct oil? Yes...

    Mahindra losing power

Not that I can find. I'm the 2nd owner. Had it for about 150 hours at this point and have the owner's manual. Went through it last night looking for that very thing and didn't find anything on it. It would seem to me that water in the fuel would show itself right after start up and not wait an...

    Mahindra losing power

Have a 2012 (no emissions) Mahindra 5010 gear drive tractor with @685 hours on it. Changed the oil, oil filter, fuel filter and air filter about 20 hours ago. Recently, after the tractor has run for about an hour the tractor will generally run fine but I lose power. To climb a hill, I have to...

    Strange Question

Yes, that is very helpful. With the bad knees I use a cinder block as an intermediary step to the first actual step. I guessed from the step up to the platform at 12" so I was right on. Thanks again. Hope to get these new knees flexible enough to climb back up there in a month or two. Thanks again.

    Strange Question

I have an open station 2012 Mahindra 5010. I had both knees replaced 6 days ago. My physical therapist wants to know the height from the ground to the first step and the height from the first step up onto the platform. I'm going to be away from the farm for a while. Anyone have that machine (or...

    Tractor Died While Blowing Snow!

Heck, I live in Tennessee not that far from the Alabama border and it got to -3 here that first really cold morning. Moved here 31 years ago from Minnesota. I remember on some cold mornings here, my dad saying, "We didn't move far enough south!".

    PTO Won't engage

Sorry for the delay. Look just in front of the right rear tire. I found this one wire with a connector. The connector had come loose. Once I plugged that in, my PTO shaft engaged just fine. In this picture, the very front of the right rear tire is shown on left of the picture frame. Maybe yours...

Bush Hog HDZ-3 Hydraulic Oil Capacity

I believe it has two ZT-5400 Transaxles. Each one is about 1.25 gallons. I found a parts manual. Somehow the two are connected. There is only one fill port. We were told that filling one would make the levels rise in each expansion tank. So, yes, they need to be drained and filled. I was just...

Bush Hog HDZ-3 Hydraulic Oil Capacity

I have searched and searched. Trying to find the hydraulic oil capacity of a Bush Hog HDZ-3 zero turn mower. Closest I've come is a reference in the owner manual that describes the hydraulic oil draining procedure. It says to use a pan with an 8 quart capacity. But that doesn't mean that is the...

    PTO Won't engage

Ok, could it have been that simple? Talked to the local Mahindra shop. Said it would be electrical and would ether be the switch on the dash or the solenoid located inside the right rear tire. Looked behind the right rear tire and there is a seemingly out of place, light gauge wire there with...

    PTO Won't engage

Fairly new to me 2012 Mahindra 5010. I've had it less than a year and it was fully serviced before I bought it. Been working great. Have only put about 60 hours on it. Has about 600 total. Used the rotary cutter a month ago. All was fine. Have used the tractor without the cutter for a few things...

Ford 640 12 Volt Conversion Clean Up

I bought this tractor well after the 12 Volt conversion was done to it. I was told the charging system worked but the Volt Meter wouldn't so I wasn't too concerned. I knew the 12V sealed beam lights didn't work but I figured that would be a fairly easy fix. Now that I have the hood off to fix a...

640 Rear Tire - can see the cord.

While doing some winter maintenance on the 640 last weekend I noticed I must have pulled pretty hard on one of the rear tires because I torn off the end of a lug in the middle of the face of the tire. I can now see the cord in that area. The area is about 1" X 1.5". These tires have fluid in...

Metric Threads on a 50 Year Old Ford Disc?

Can this possibly be true? I need to replace a couple of the notched discs on my old Ford Series G tandem disc (built by Dearborn I believe). This thing is at least 50 years old according to the research. I had to split the square nuts off the end of each axle as nothing I tried let me unscrew...

    Ford 8N with Factory Backhoe?

Okay, I've never seen this before. I went and looked at an 8N yesterday with a backhoe on it. I expected a homemade job. But it's not. It looks like it is factory installed right on the back of the tractor. The Hydraulic/Differential housing is completely different and the Backhoe looks like it...
