What size plow and disk should I use with a 30 hp tractor?

I'm having generator trouble on my 63 JD 1010 diesel. Was thinking replacing it with a alternator but not sure how to hook it for the positive ground system. Any help would be appreciated

The 3 point lift on my 1010 John Deere bumps or jerks other wise it has plenty of lifting power and works fine. Just can't figure it out. Any ideas?

For those of you who have been helping me along the way this is the end result. Bought this about 15 days ago out of a brush thicket. Had been there for atleast the last 14 years, as I drove by. Took alot of work and $, but is a great little tractor now.
