Why no Ecoboost in the F250?

Just to chime in, my 2019 F250 6.2 gets 12.? normal back and forth. 10.? if I dont get behind idiots and can plan hills with a 6K+ camper. 9 when they slow down -15 going uphill. Distance open highway if its hilly, 16-17. South of Maryland, 18.

Glyphosphate - application rate advice needed

Just a thought. I add plain white vinegar to the round up tank. Its cheap and a dash of DW liquid, roundup mixed, and a healthy splash of vinegar will nuke multiflora rose

    How would you fall this?

Bottom notch where you can stand. Plunge cut everything leaving a tab about 2 inches or so thick on top, nip the tab. Same as a leaner. I wouldnt be worried about a barber chair so much as the rootball figuring out it just lost a lot of weight and dragging half of the tree with it. Saw, limbs...

    Underground electric/drainage question

Best bet is to ask the elec co, but I dont see why not. It would give extra protection beyond the "OH SH.." tape for the next backhoe operator. I've dropped a lot of wire in ditches and some are strict, and some arent. The conduit will be PVC, glued, and they better see primer. It isnt for...

Grading--what am I doing to cause this?

Angle the blade harder by bringing the left side farther forward. Then play with the top link angle to get it to cut like you want, and the side elevation to get your crown. Even a road grader will cause ripples if you repeatedly run the same angle over a road, or at least they did when I ran...

Need advice on a larger chainsaw for an older guy.

Weight to nose weight are factors. You dont need a 40 inch bar to drop a 40 inch tree, In fact you dont even need a 20. What you need to do is learn how to drop trees. Now, for me at 57yo, the old Husky 61 with a 24 in bar is my go to. It is heavy, but it will get the job done and for little...

    bucket level indicator

I have been on equipment for 49 years. I can run a backhoe and dozer, pretty fair operator with a skidsteer, used to be a pretty good grader operator before they were laser leveled, (difference between a person who runs equipment and an operator) not bad on a roller and am game for anything. I...

Restoring antique plow - need to remove rusted nuts/bolts - how much heat?

Penetrating fluid and tap with a hammer, as long as you have the time. Then heat, then, well, they cant be stuck if they are liquid.

How long should I let new ground settle before putting in posts on piers?

The water run off is great for what you need. Dam the perimeter and let it flood. Dont drain it. You do that and you will get as much compaction as you are going to. Let it sit for a year. I would still go deep with your piers, but you will be filling in with as much compaction as you will get.

OVER TIRES TRACKS questions hands on experience ???

Looking at a set of steel also. I like the wheel machine and have run wheel machines starting with a Case 540 many years ago. I currently have a Case 1845 (no, not C) and while I can do most of what I want to do on the wheels, there are a few things that I would like to get into that would...

    Repo

They lend at double digit interest rates because the debtor has garbage credit. They make their money up front, then sell the loan. Help me decide on R1 vs R4 tires for my first tractor

R1s for what you are doing. R4s are great for on stone base or dry grass. They are referred to as industrial tires for a reason. Outstanding for a tractor to be used as a backhoe on blacktop. I live in PA, and run the tractor in the woods with R4's. I also run chains 24/7/365 on the rear after...

Just because a person has toys, does not mean they are well off. Ground compaction

I wouldnt worry about it. If you are going to be in there tearing out vines and limbs, hauling limbs/firewood out, then brush hogging it, you are going to be running over everything. It will come back. I dont see a location, but if you are in the north, then wait until the ground is frozen if it...

Thoughts on moving snow with a 35hp CUT

If you can push up a full bucket and dump it once in a while on a normal snow, a snowblower would be overkill. Fun yes, but overkill. I move 95% of the snow I get driving forward with a backblade. If I get 12+ then I move the big stuff with the bucket and clean up with the back blade. Last time...

How Do You Get Driveway Gravel Out of Grassy Areas?

I set the backblade to the last hole on the turret (most angle). Change the toplink so that the cutting edge isnt aggressively digging, then run the edges. The grass grows back, and the big stone is back in the driveway. The little stone will become yard lime in 200 years or so
