Dear 2210, I love you but...

you got to go. I need the money for my daughters' college and to reduce debt so I'll be cutting with a small cheap mower. You have done great things with your little diesel and tooth-bar. Roto-tilling, mowing, hauling wood, pulling sheds and changing the landscape. You always start and you never...

    Independant lift

I wanted an independant lift that didn't use the loader ports or tapped into tractor hydraulics while under warranty. Here is a truly independant lift that is not part of the tractor hydraulics and can be removed to reinstall the mechanical lift. As time permits I will make some nice mounting...

    New 2210 attachment

Sometimes I pull around my trailer with the 2210. The ball mounted on the rear tractor frame works but not great due to it's height. Here is my solution to the problem. I bought the draw bar from TSC for $20 something dollars and the ball from walmart for $7. The stainless was scrap(free) and...

    2210 Loader lifting capacity

With all the talk recently about how much these little loaders can lift I borrowed a dynamometer to check the weight of a pine I cut down. I thought it was heavier than it was but from the photos you can see that the 210 loader is capable of lifting this log (600 lbs) close to the maximun lift...

    PHD for 2210

Since I'm in a posting mood I thought I would get your opinions on post hole digger. I will be putting in a new deck behind our house this fall and will need to put in the concrete footers. I'll probably buy those tubes and stick down 24" or whatever the frost line is. This will be in TN clay...

    2210 front axle

I have noticed recently more noise or maybe a vibration when engaging the front axle. Last night I raised the front end off the ground with the loader, turned off the engine and rotated one of the wheels (MFWD disengaged). There is some gear noise/ vibration but don't have anything to compare...

2210 with an X seat -again

When I first got the 2210 I didn't think that the seat was as bad as some here were saying but as I spent more hours on it my back was hurting. Watching with interest the X series seat conversion, I tried doing it my way. Attached is a picture of what I came up with. Getting the front of the...

    Dumb me- just wouldn't listen

Dumb me- just wouldn\'t listen Ever notice even after you recieved good advice ya just don't listen? Well I took out one of my ROPS light the other day. Heard a squeal and then crunch. I was cutting grass and was looking down as I thought I had run over something. Then looked over my shoulder...

    Can you ID this tractor?

They have been using this to till the clumps out for seeding. Actually they just make smaller clumps with it then roll out this netting/ straw material which I believe has seed in it. After a couple of weeks the grass starts coming up through it.

    2210 bucket rings

I contemplated welding hooks on the bucket but decided for these as they were just collecting dust. They have a WLL of 1500 lbs so are more than enough for the 2210 loader lift capacity. I backed them up with a 4" square 5/8" thick aluminum backing plate.

    Love that cut grass smell

Got to cut for the first time this year using the new 2210. It felt alot different than the X585. I am using the same 54" deck but the difference is mostly the height you sit at. It is like the difference between driving a sedan and a SUV. I did encounter one problem(don't laugh now). I got the...

    Battery Corrosion on a 2210?

With all this talk about the JD batteries leaking, has anybody had one on a 2210? Didn't know if there was a history and whether I should be on the look-out with mine.

    Behind the pool slope project

Here is a winter project that I have mostly completed. It is really the first major dirt digging I have done with my X585/loader and then 2210/loader. The hairyest part of this was the close proximately to the pool fence. The slope really ended at 1 foot from the fence and went from 20 degrees...

    Do Dealers run new Tractors

Does anybody know whether dealers will run the tractor for a few hours when they receive a new unit? Supposively to check out the engine and hydraulics?

    2210 rusty screws

Has anybody noticed the screws below and forward of the seat that holds the black panel in place. Mine are starting to rust. I didn't notice any other rusting going on anyplace else. Most of the bigger hardware is plated but not these screws so I have replaced them with SS button head screws. In...

    2210 transmission sight glass

2210 owners- While checking my new 2210 transmission sight glass I noticed there is no fluid level line. It is just red in color so either there is too much trans fluid or not enough. What do you think and is ther another way to check for fluid level?

    2210 gits dirty!

Recently traded in the X585 for the 2210 and due to the beautiful weekend got some seat time. I have been changing the slope behind my pool as it was not conducive to mowing with the tractor. I started the project with the x585/ 45 loader and will finish with the 2210, hopefully This not a big...

    Need pto driveline help

I don't have alot of experience with implement pto shafts so am asking for some guidance. I have a tiller w/slip clutch thaty I want to put on my new JD2210. It was previously connected to a JD X585 that I traded. The Pto shaft is now too short by at least 6 inches. The triangular shafts appear...

Tiller  TSC called about XB tiller

I got a rain check from TSC on the 48" XB tiller from King Kutter back in end of December. I just got a call that it came in. I was no longer interested in it as I ended up with a Woods 52". KK told me they didn't think it would fit the JD X585 but I thought they were wrong. Curious I went to...

    Tiller  New Woods tiller

I have been looking at a woods GTC 52" tiller for my JD X585. I was quoted $1300.00-is this good?

    Tiller  Kioti tiller

I'm going to look this week at a new Kioti tiller 47". This might be a good match for the JD X585 but will have to check if the 3pt will lift it high enough. The price is around $1100.00 What ya think? John Deere sells the 450 and 647 tiller which are 48" wide for the X series.

    King Kutter for Subcompacts

Has anybody have any experience with this new line from King Kutter. It is called the XB series and made specifically for sub compacts. I am interested in the rototiller and box blade. king kutter

3pt moving with FEL on X585

I have noticed that the ballast box moves with the FEL curl even though the cut off valve is closed. On the X585 when the dealer installed the FEL they put in a cut off valve, I believe, in the the return line of the 3 pt cylinder. This valve is like a needle valve requiring several turns. It...

Is this a real tractor yet?

Just added the Markham Welding toothbar. Good welds and heavy duty, probably overkill for my X. I still have to get the small reinforcement plates welded to the outside of the bucket which I plan to do when a weld-on hook shows up for the back of the bucket.

    Upgrading-Which would you do?

Purchased a X585 in June and it has 35 hours on it. Bought a Johnny Bucket Sr. and have used it alot. There has been times when it would be nice it would be to lift higher than the JB Sr can. A 3 pt would be nice also. The cost of adding a loader and PTO/3pt. to the X585 would be around...

Behold the power of the mighty X585-kinda

No disrespect to the 2210, just thought I would steal the subject line for the 2210's little cousin. Considering the money spent for this tractor and bucket I thought I would put it to use. My neighbors probably think I'm looney. This tree or what use to be fell on the neighbors car one stormy...

    X585 Pop and surge

Hello to all. I have a X585 with 10 hours on it. Traded up from a JD345. I really like it except for one enoying problem. Ocasionally the tractor goes into a mode where the rpm surges or changes by itself like I was adjusting the throttle. In this mode the tractor is not very useful to say the...
