    CT230 control valve failure.

Had the inner most line on my control valve shear off at the valve body. Was just moving stuff in a pretty open area. Hoping after the rain stops I can get back out and see if I can get the part that is broke inside to come off.

    CT230 electrical issue

Kind of a long post but thought I would share. Use the following suggestions at your own risk. These are steps that worked for me. Your mileage may vary. There are steps that jumper safety features built in to protect operators; only do this if you fully understand what you are doing and know...

    CT230 electrical issue

I have a Bobcat CT230. Will not turn over with switch. I checked the fuses and the 5 amp fuse to the safety circuit was blown. I changed it, still would not start with the key. Jumpered the starter and it started and ran. Turn tractor off, try to start it again, no luck. Fuse not blown...

    Troubleshooting hydraulics

Is there a way to troubleshoot what is causing my tractor from not moving like it should? From day one I could only use high gear on flat land, I would only use it when moving from one area of yard to other when not doing work. Now middle range is acting the same way. Tractor will not move if...

    Plow attachment

Any suggestions for fabricating a mount for a snow plow. I am planning on attaching truck plow to a John Deere 790. I'm thinking about welding a cross bar with two tabs sticking out to the front of the tractor and using the bucket hydraulics to raise and lower the plow via chain to bucket. I...

    Backhoe  Repairing backhoe boom

Anyone have any experience having to repair the backhoe boom? I have the 6TB and the lower arm of the boom where it attaches to the upper arm broke apart last night while digging a 3 inch stump out. I will get some pictures today. Thinking I might be able to take it off and take it into work to...

How to bend sheet metal and get a proper bend radius

I am starting a new project not entirely related to tractors but this site has such a diverse knowledge base. I figured I might be able to get some advice here. I am building an airplane out of aluminum. I bought a harbor freight bending brake to do most of the smaller bends. There are other...

    3 point hitch pin enhancement

I was tired of not being able to get the pins out that hold the lower arms of the 3 point hitch. So I added some tabs on the outside to give me something to grab onto.

72 inch Rachet Rake on sale at TSC $199

Tried out the RR today. It does pretty good. I have a Bobcat CT230 with a 60" bucket. The 72" rake fits right close to the edge of the bucket. One tab outside and the other tab wad inside the bucket. It does better on loosed stuff and not so good on making new contour. It does not replace the...

    Pouring footers

Anyone ever mis-calculate or receive the wrong amount of concrete when pouring a footer? Ordered concrete today to pour my moms footer and we came up short, we were the last delivery for the day so we could not have the truck go to the yard and get more. So now it is setting up overnight and we...

    Front hydrualic lines

I am looking at getting a front grapple for the CT230. Looks like WildKat has some pretty good deals and reviews. I have one set of rear remotes already. I have read people using these to run the front stuff. How convenient is it reaching to the lever to adjust the hydraulics? Where do you find...

    Container planting?

Anyone more plants from outside to inside for the winter so they can have veggies year round? Wife is looking at having some container plants and is looking for some information on what works well indoors? Have a special room for them with their own light or regular light work fine? Any...

Hidden costs of buying a tractor

My wife came home with a new sewing machine. Little did I know the "all in agreement" at the dealership ment she had her eye on a nice new sewing machine. I had no idea a happy homeowner sewing machine can do/cost so much. Her attachments are 10% the cost of mine, along with the initial purchase...

    Trailer conversion

What's involved with converting a 7000# trailer to something with a little more capacity. I have a 16 foot diamond deck car hauler rated at 7000#. I believe I could just swap the axles and upgrade the tires. Am I missing anything. Already has brakes. Thanks

Stopped by the dealer today and signed paperwork for a new CT230 with backhoe, pallet forks and York rake. This was the pre delivery inspection.

Looking at a GT72 woods tiller for CT230

I am almost a new owner of a CT230. Dealer is finishing the final pricing and I should be able to take delivery next week. There is a GT72 for sale near me for $1400. Will the tractor handle that or should I go smaller on the tiller or bigger on the tractor? We have been thinking about uping to...

Will a Bobcat 773 dig stumps?

Will a Bobcat 773 dig stumps reasonably well. It does come with over the tire tracks and tooth bucket. I know it will not compete with a backhoe, but I am torn between a used 773 or a new CUT with a backhoe. Wife likes the idea of new tractor with loader and backhoe compared to buying a used...

    Buying Advice  Bobcat 773

Looking at buying a Bobcat 773. Its a 2001 with ~1800 hours, has grapple bucket, 3&1 or 4&1 bucket (not sure on what they call it when it opens up to be a dozer blade), tooth bucket, post hole digger with 2 bits, forks, and tracks. He wants $18,000 for it all or $15,000 for the machine and one...
