Even on towing it stays put. there is a tiny amount of free play front to back when moving it but thaat's all. It wasn't parked with the brake on so I doubt that it is a siezed brake. a...

195D No Longer Afraid to come Out of the Dark.

The Story. When I got this tractor last summer, it had 4 coats of the ugliest paint you ever saw. It was scabbed up like a bad case of psoriasis. Red, Black,White, One layer at a time. I was ashamed to ride it in the daylight. The steering shaft was out of it, the high/low shift lever broken...

    Front Mounted snowblower update

A long winter. had to use the blower on 3pt. so it didn't allow much time to work on it but it is finally done. works like a charm. runs at about 700 R.P.M. which works a lot better than it di at 540. Doesn't take nearly as much power on front pto. Here's some pics. Richard.

    Faith in the T.S.

For those of you who are skeptical about the thermo-start! It has been 10F the last few nights here, I haven't plugged in my 195D and it starts fine. Takes a little extra time on the T.S. and a little slow to fire, but it starts. I only did this to see how well it works. 'Gotta find the...

    Engine speed

I see a lot of talk about speeds of 2700 RPM in the forum. This seems to me an excessive speed for my 2 cyl. 195D. Also the limit screw (high speed) has a flattened end with a hole i it like there should be a spring or something attached to it. Can anyone enlighten this old fool??

    Steering problem warning

The old 195D that I recently purchased had no steering when I got it. It appears that the steering box is susceptable to taking in water if it sits outside (although I really don't see why). The previous owner used it in the winter. the steering got really hard so he just reefed on the wheel...
