For those with a similar problem...
It looks like I was able to fix it with a zip tie (I ran the stump grinder for 2+ hours and it held up fine -- that's WAY longer than what I had tried previously).
There are chains to both cones. One cone has the shield well attached, the other end, the shield (tube) keeps popping out of the cone. There are no chains to the shields (tubes).
Hi,
One end of my PTO shaft tubing will not stay connected to the cover. I've tried epoxy, rivets and eternabond tape. Suggestions welcome!
Thanks!

I apologize for not reading all 7 pages of posts, but if no one has posted this, it might be helpful...

My new PTO clutch finally arrived and it turns out that the clutch was not the problem. Inside the connector at the clutch end of wiring harness to the clutch one of the spade lugs had separated so it wasn't making contact. I thought that I had checked everything, but I missed a simple easy...
Update:
Switches and relays are good. Idler pulley replaced :)
PTO clutch shows infinite resistance on an ohm meter and draws no current from my bench supply. Time to order a new clutch....
I marked the pulley and it didn't move when I cranked the engine. I then started it and turned on the PTO and it didn't move either. I had tested for 12V when this first started, so I know that 12V is getting to the clutch.
I took the mower deck and idler pulley off today -- and have ordered a new idler pulley. I can not turn the pulley on the PTO with the belt off (mower also off and no voltage applied to the PTO) -- does this suggest that the PTO clutch is shot or should I wait until I get the new idler pulley...
Thanks everyone. I'll replace the idler pulley and let you know what happens (it might take a few weeks to get it apart and get the replacement so please be patient :) ).
Thanks! I was wondering about that. I did verify that there is 12V going to the clutch and when I "engage" it I don't hear/see anything. Is it possible that the clutch is OK anyway?
Hi,
I think I have two problems.
Problem 1:
I know that I need to replace the PTO clutch on my Bobcat FastCat Pro (61") ZTR. Do I need to buy the Borg Warner clutch or are the Chinese "equivalents" (on eBay for about 1/2 the price) good enough.
Problem 2:
When I took a look at the belt to...
I have a JD 214 and after the PTO/mower deck have run for a while (2-20 minutes) the belt twists so that the V is not in the PTO groove (it's "upside down").
Can anyone suggest possible causes/solutions?
Thanks!
Jeff
When I bought this house in 2005, the previous owner made me a deal on his old Ariens EZR1742. After many repairs, I'm ready for a real Zero Turn Mower.
I've been looking at and reading about Bad Boy mowers (and I looked at a couple at the local Tractor Supply store). There is a new Bad Boy...
