    Dead Goats

Being in GA look into Black Mouth Cur dogs. I have one. There are a bunch of breeders in GA. My 80 pound female has done battle with two different adult bears, plenty of coyote, a few fishers and one wet and petrified fox (got run straight into our pond). No training required. My chickens start...

Any ideas on how to fix?.

I purchased a used Curtiss snow plow with the JDQA. It was used for a year on a JD 3320. Very similar to my 4105. When I went to Put it on the bottom pins on the JDQA don't quite fit in the holes of the FEL. One side I can get to drop in but the other is just ever so slightly off. I...

    Winter is coming

I sold my old plow truck and will be using the JD 4105 to clear my 300 foot driveway. Not much of a pitch but a little. Half is stone and half paved. I am in the hills of CT so we get plenty of snow. I cleared the driveway with the loader a few times when we got over a foot. I found it slow and...

    Observations from North Carolina

I just got back from a one week vacation in NC, Wimington area. One thing I noticed is that there were a bunch of tractors being used "commercially" , landscapers, towns, and construction crews. A JD 3120 was being used to spread a triaxle load of soil with the FEL and what looked like a...

Don't know where else to put this?

Ok next question. The quote feature works great. When I add a picture it is small and you have to click on it. Some people have large pictures in their thread. When people quote my smaller picture threads it shows up as the file name Instead of the picture like XXXEJNE.JPG Instead of the actual...

    Snow storm

We got 24" here and I had 4' drifts across driveway. Still adjusting to FEL clearing but in this storm better then plow. My F350 wouldn't push it.

New snowblower got its first real storm today .............

Good for you. And I wouldn't call this the FIRST REAL STORM. ThATs an understatement. This was unreal. I don't know if the Dodge could have pushed it. My F350 couldn't. Tractor works good but slow, and fun. Good to hear your happy with the blower. I want one !

Snow Technique to clear 30" of snow w. Kubota B3300SU

Trial and error for me but got it done. I pushed a bunch areas back to dump snow then moved when needed. I tried to go on and angle from the center of driveway out so I could push and lift more then one scoop at a time. A rear blade would have been nice for final cleanup. Float works ok for...

Posible blizzard coming to Massachusetts and surrounding states

Just started snowing now. It's 26 degrees and the wind just started to barely move the trees. The local forecast says 24-26" and one model says in excess of 34". I never had any interest in a cab but this may change my mind. I have plenty of fuel, generator, and food. Time to do some inside...

Don't know where else to put this?

Ok, I am fairly new at this but love the forum. How do you quote a previous post and have it show up in that nice blue bubble with the original time and posters name? I have tried and tried but can't figure it out. The threads are so much easier to read when the specifics things you are...

What Was Your Top Project in 2012?

I finished a12x16 shed with a shed roof around back. I also had a pond put in out behind my house. I built the shed but hired out the pond. I also graded and seeded around both projects. Came in decent before winter set in.

    What Attachment Do I need

Do you have a front end loader? Maybe a rock bucket? That's what my neighbor uses for horses. Like a stall rake on steroids and 1000X the cost. But 1000X more fun to use and has plenty other uses as well.

Because the search engine sucks......Box Blade Question

For some reason the search engine on TractorByNet is difficult for me to use. I know there are a ton of box blade related threads and I read all that I could find. Does anyone else find the search "painful" or is it just me? However, I ask anyhow...... I have a John Deere 4105 and want to get...

Snow Equipment Owning/Operating Pictures of your snow weapons

First attempt with a FEL. Disappointed but I understand there is a learning curve. Snow was crazy heavy. Just got 10" of light powder but went with the plow truck because I was pressed for time. Looking forward to trying FEL on a regular storm. I haven't given up yet.

What did you get for Christmas?

    A chicken diaper, yup-chicken diaper.

    Besr Christmas gift EVER

Yes, that's right, a chicken diaper. For my favorite chicken Tom. I know it's a hen but we thought it was a rooster when it was a chick, hence Tom. The name just stuck. As soon as I go inside Tom is waiting by the glass slider, comes when called, and super social.

What ATV, side by side or UTV do you have.

Had a used Kawaski Prairie 400 for a few years and it ran problem free. Was looking for a gold cart for wife and I to drive around property, kids to bus stop etc. running out of places to put things so I started to look for a UTV. Found them used to be most out of where I was willing to spend...

    Buying Advice  Bought the 4105

Hello- I posted my first thread looking for help in buying a new tractor. I weighed everyone's input carefully. I am amazed not only the knowledge but that people took the time ( and a lot of it ) to help. Responses were quick and thoughtful. Many even helped research and others were from...

    Rotary cutting

I am buying a rotary cutter for a 3-4 acre field but have never used one. I know how to size the hp but how size the width? The width of my tractor is 66". Can I go with a 5' or is a 6' a must. I will miss a few inches in tight spots with the 5' or can you off set the cutter a few inches by...

Frontier RC line versus JD MX Series

I just ordered at JD 4105. For a Rotary cutter the JD MX series is roughly $600 more then the Frontier. I am going to mow my own field but may do others in future. Is it worth it? Any experience with either? I know the JD is better but is it $600 better? Part 2 - I have never used a rotary...

    Comparison  JD 3320 vs 4105

:confused2: With the help of my last post ( lot great advise ), I have decided between the JD 3320 and 4105. I thought I was set on a 4105 ( more hp why not) but spoke with another mechanic who stated the 3320 has a much heavier frame then the 4105. Because of this the 3320 can take the 485...
