    B1550 advice/opinions please

rScotty thanks for the positive assessment. Agree on well cared for older models, they're out there. The owner of this one hasn't come up with an asking price yet and I don't want to be too pushy about it. So I'll just have to wait and see how things work out.

jeff, no doubt you are correct about FEL. Fortunately in my case I have a larger CUT that has a FEL for other chores, however at lack of one for the B1550 does way on my decision (slightly) as should I ever sell, it does become just a fancy lawn mower. Guess that is what it currently is...

SDT, that is very impressive. Speaks well for this generation of Kubota. Gives me some confidence. Mind sharing how many hours on your machine?

    B1550 advice/opinions please

Long time lurker, obviously not a poster. However came across a B1550, 4WD,HST with a MMM, no FEL. Just over 900hrs. Has decent maintenance and repair (few repairs) records and receipts, owner manuals. Looks well cared for and has always been covered/garaged/barned. I checked with a local...

CC104 or 3000 Series, Which would you restore?

Yeah, you do hate to get 'em dirty after all the work. I kept mine in the shop a couple weeks after the rehab. But eventually it has to go to work. Thanks for the compliment on the welding, but as I said I'm no pro. Glad I only have to satisfy myself. :D I used flux core wire as...

CC104 or 3000 Series, Which would you restore?

Here are a couple pics of the operator foot platform, the underneath side. The rusted areas are mostly around attachment points, which is fairly typical. First coat of paint complete. I'm currently grinding, sanding and priming the deck. Hope to get paint on it next week. Will post some...

CC104 or 3000 Series, Which would you restore?

Since I figured out I can upload pics here are a couple of the deck. One is just the general condition of the deck. There was considerable rust under the deck hanger attachment plate. Should have taken one of the front edge before I cut it out but there wasn't much there. I think heavy...

CC104 or 3000 Series, Which would you restore?

Here is a pic (cell phone) working on the tractor frame. Cleaned up some rust and re-painted. This post is also a test to see if I can post a pic. Ok, it worked, so I added a pic with 1st coat of paint.

CC104 or 3000 Series, Which would you restore?

Hello All, Noob here. Put up an intro in the new members section. Generally more of a lurker and searcher for info than I am a joiner poster, but I do have this question. Here is the background: I have this CC 104 that I have had since about 1984. Those of you that know about this era Cubs...

    Cigar50 says Hello!

Greetings to everyone. Been a tractor guy ever since my uncle first let me drive his John Deere sitting on his lap. He ran the clutch and I got the steering and throttle. Now this was in the late 50s and I was a tyke, maybe 9. That Deere was, to the best of my recollection a '49 or '50...
