    Does HST Transmission Rob Horsepower??

I spend quite a bit of time in close quarters, in soft ground, and on slippery hills. I’ve owned only gear drive and it seems my left and right foot are pretty well trained to act properly when things are difficult. I can certainly see advantages to an HST, but am concerned I just wouldn’t...

What implement best for turf grading with compact tractor?

I’d expect the soil type, moisture, and grass type to have a big effect on what works. I have had success on some bumpy areas with the rototiller set to just trim off the highest of the high spots. It is slow, and it took several passes over the summer, but worked well in the end.

    Forward Exit Horizontal Exhaust??

I have a John Deere 4100 with forward exhaust. I have a blade on the front and when I use the rear mounted and rear facing snowblower, I like to have the wind blowing from front to back to keep the snow off me. In that setting I smell a lot of exhaust. I keep thinking I should build a vertical...

Snow Attachments JD 54 snow plow bracket

When I checked, I see that the brace across the bottom of the blade does hit the bracket to limit forward tilt. I hope the first three pictures show that. The last picture shows the hydraulic fittings on the front of the index cylinder. If the temp outside and the hydraulic fluid temp are just...

. My tool for snow. This is always a compromise but works well for me in wooded area. You would want bigger if moving 2 feet of hard drifted snow. If the blower were heavier, the steering while plowing would be poor. There are several areas where I plow snow and then use the blower to get rid of...

Snow Attachments JD 54 snow plow bracket

. I hope these help. One shows they bent ears out on the sides that the blade rests against when pushing. Let me know if you need more. Hope you got that snow moved. It missed us, but there was plenty 150 miles south.

    Hello

I bought a Ford 640 LTB 15 or more years ago. It seemed pretty badly worn then. Now 1000 hours later it is hard to tell it is worn any worse in spite of pretty heavy work with rock and gravel in summer and chains on moving wood and snow in the winter. Now I'm dreaming of a smaller tractor to...
