    DK40 front bearing failure @ 1300 hours

I have been meaning to fill a 55ga drum with crete for a 3 point CW.....have not done it yet and yes, any leak must be fixed asap. " The installation process is also quick and easy, and is also one of the best options for building a gravel driveway on a hill. First, the desired paving area is excavated to a depth of about 12 inches and a piece of fabric is laid at the bottom to prevent gravel migration. Then, gravel is...

Yes Pump or drain the condensation water out of it once a year, or it can rust from the inside out where water sits on the bottom and does not make it to the water separator filter.

First I was trying to make a trail thru the woods to get to my deer stand so I could grub it out. I had cracked my sunshade lengthwise(3') earlier this year by driving under a low hanging limb in the pasture. While in the woods, I snagged it on a small dead tree & 1/3 of it shattered. I did make...

    Equipment Auctions...Beware

I am sorry to say that I was a bit naive about auctions. They seem to be getting more pervasive around the country as a sign of the times. I have bought a few things over the past year, and recently tried to sell my dozer at a local auction without any luck. I have learned some things through my...

    Round Bailer brand opinions/reviews...

Just to let y'all know.....I know nothing about round bailers. There are a gazillion brands/models/sizes. Help me narrow the field.... I am tired of watching my 21 ac go from seed to weed waiting for the guy to come cut and bail it(he has cut it once this year so far). I made him a really good...

This can make a grown man hurt...

We have a fenced yard, so we are not sure how it happened. Our schnauser got out this morning and got hit right in front of our place(the car didn't stop). My wife was looking for him after letting the chickens out of the hen house at 7am. She saw him on the road and came running in franticly...

I got hit with heat stroke today...not fun

I am posting this to possibly keep someone else from getting nailed. I'm 51 & have worked outside my entire life & never had this happen: Today I had just finished welding up a 16' track for my Woodmizer sawmill & used the tractor/forks to move it to the milling pad & hook it all up. It was...

I can't go Green, and this is why:

I have a pond that needs water pumped from the creek 150' away. I have a house not yet built that I would like to be off grid. I have em'd several solar companies for quotes on both of the above. Many don't even respond(I guess the economy is so good, that they do not need any business)...

    Teach me about cutting torches...please!

In order to get my dozer back together I need to torch 6 3/4" bolts that are snapped off in the track rails. I have been kicking around a cutting torch to compliment my Millermatic 210 Mig. So, I went into my local welding store....two tanks-$400, a set of gauges/torch set anywhere from $200 to...

    Water well prob, need ideas....

2 years ago I put in a well. I have a small creek running thru the place, so an excavator dug a big hole & I had 11 tons of sand dumped in the hole. I used a 1 & 1/4 sand point driven type wll head that I drove down about 4' into the sand. The pump is about 30' away & has 6' of elevation. I used...

Oops, this is gonna cost $$$

I know what happened even though i didn't know that it was possible. I was grubbing out a possible house site(wife still is undecided{sigh}) and i had the box blade down & tilted slightly forward. I pushed some brush into a small creek bed & up the other side. I forgot to raise the box & it...

We are now a two Diesel family....

I had found that my '05 5.3 Chevy Crew 4x4 didn't like towing the 40 horse Kioti & implements up the steep grades in our county....it would shift down to first:mad:. We bought a used diesel Jetta last Jan & have put over 30K on it since. I have been pleased with it's performance & fuel mileage...

Anyone going to buy stocks now?

I don't own any now, but it looks to me like it would be a great time to take a little $ & buy some stocks that are at rock bottom. Even today(Mon) they seem to be creeping up. No, i am not talking my life savings, just $500-1,000. So, who has the guts{stupidity} to step up like me & throw a...

I need to replace a Recoil Tensioner on my Case 350B Dozer. Case wants $700+. I found couple of places that sell aftermarket non Case parts. One of them is Tractor Stuff in Indiana, & their price is $360. Anyone here have any experience with non OEM dozer parts? RD
