We need the engine ID plate. This will tell what you really have.
I'm very suspicious of the model ending in DT. The D means 4WD and the T turbo. There are no turbos on models less in the YM series of a YM2500.
I've seen models engine in A, B, D, F, M, R, S, T and Z.
Per @AaronM suggestion that your machine is possibly mis-marked, I went to look for those brake boots. Nothing listed for a YM1610. Yet, they do show up for a YM1602.
Brand-M has them in-stock, down in Texas. (y)
https://brandmparts.com/collections/ym1602-chassis-parts-brake
I wonder if the OP has the wrong tractor decal on his machine. The YM1610 and YM1602 have a common engine, the 3T75U. Just the YM1602 has two more trailing letters of NB.
@AaronM , you bring up a good point. (y)
The YTOG has the manuals for your machine for free. (y)
You will know the part numbers and then the YTOG Resource Page for all the parts suppliers.
If you are frugal, use old cell phone(s), put it in an enclosure with a power source.
There are apps to make it into a security device and monitor. It will even send you live-feeds.
Most of the Mitsubishi and Satoh manuals are on the Tractor Forum site. I know, I uploaded about 45 of them. (y)

Some use oil and some use grease. The manuals call for the old school GL4 80W90.
Unless you have a time machine, GL4 is a rare thing to find anymore. And GL5 is not all that great.
What you can do, upgrade to 75W90 synthetic. Shop around for a good deal.

The only annoying thing with this mower, the front wheels clog very easily. Even as they are clogged, the mower will still go and go and go, however, the clogged wheel will get a flat spot since it isn't moving much. My dad owns a Toro just like it.
I did pick up the HF Manual tire changer since I have to change the tubes on the tractor, deburr the rims, install a new tube and be operational again.
For the price of the tire changer, the local tire shops and chain stores now charge $60+tax, and to drop it off and come back the next day...
The oil and diesel is the cost effective way to treat the boards.
Even on old boards, the mixture gets sucked in faster.
When the boards are new, linseed oil, though expensive gets the job done. When the boards are 5 years old then the diesel and oil works way better.
If you have a...
Winston, amazing video, thanks for posting. This goes into all kinds of details for the 4WD system. I learned a bunch from this, even though I have 2WD.
Yanmar made the system rather easy, not difficult. (y)
How to keep the soot and smoke away and ways to prevent having the head warp and crack on these Yanmar engines.
- Do not let the engine idle below 1200rpms for longer than 10mins max at a time. And the time is with 1hr between.
- Do use 10W30 summer and 5W30 winter for engine oil. Do not use...
This has a YANMAR engine correct. Your best source of info should be the Yanmar section here on TBN or on the YTOG.
There are ways to remedy the problem without extreme costs like an upper end engine rebuilt in the thousands of dollars.
If your machine is smaller and able to get onto smaller lots to do this work, then an item like the Deere Frontier RT30 will work nicely. And this unit can run with a diesel 25Hp and up machine.
Your cultivator looks very much like a rotary tiller.
What if you pulled a drum roller behind the rotary tiller too?
A rotary tiller has depth skids. Set it to 2 or 3 inches deep. Then use the ground packer with aerator behind it.
one example...

There are no free manuals on TBN, they are on the YTOG.
The link is in my signature below.
Also, put the YM in front of your machine number. Iseki, Kioti, Mitsubishi have the same numbers and people will give you wrong advice. LOL
I've had mine for nearly 3 years. I have a very large 2-row, 2-gang disc harrow that weights an awful lot out of all the attachments I have. This HF QF grabs it, picks it up with no issues.
The brush mower is fine too.
Yes, the alternative is not to buy any US brand as they are,
1. expensive
2. disappoint you for load and function
Best to make one yourself with your own welder. (y)
I love this one. Fits on MCUT and larger. 18Hp Yanmar diesel can move these heavy bales.

The JB weld for fuel tanks should work.
You may need to do it in layers. Let each layer cure, apply another, until it is totally built back up.
Various YT vids on this.
If it was me, I would use some of the same techniques as welding. If this is a crack, create a V groove along the crack...
For diesel engines, Deere and Yanmar state not to let the diesel engine idle for more than 10mins at a time in a given hour.
Long idle times doesn't burn the fuel off properly. And then parked, it cools, leaving the build up even more.
Seafoam and the Gumout products are both designed to...
Many fuel tanks are made from HDPE with fiberglass and carbon strand fillers.
The fiberglass and carbon fillers offer both strength to the tank and prevents permeation of the fuels.
By chance, what hydraulic fluid is recommended in the TYM part of this tractor? If it was a Yanmar or Deere, JDM J20C Hygard or Yanmar TF500A should only be used.
If it is HOT to the touch, I would strongly recommend Lube Gard...
Do you buy off-road diesel or fresh diesel at a truck stop? Avoid off-road diesel as the station under ground tanks might be refilled once a year.
If you suspect bad diesel with microbes and a dark color to it, yes, change out the filters, the hose to the filter and flush the fuel tank...
I agree too, TBN activity overall has dropped in a huge way. Since 2023 till now, it's been getting worse.

Plus, people are not happy with FB groups either, difficult to search on a topic and to roll back to...
Since the RK machines often have a Yanmar engine, they are discussed in the Yanmar (new) section a bit. People new to the site often go there instead. Not sure why.
RK37 with the Yanmar 3TNV88 is reliable as they come.
The 3TNx88 engine family has been around for a long time.
Yes, the SpeedCo  is about $15 cheaper with free shipping on Amazon. BoltOn costs more and you pay shipping.
BoltOn has a chain box for the HF QH, but the price is crazy high $65.
Then add the non-sealed lid for another $22.50.
The HF ammo can and two brackets will do the same thing for...
What fluid is in the machine now?
And when you changed the fluid, did you do a flush prior to adding the new fluid in?
Does this machine have a loader?
Travis, since he is well versed in Deere/Yanmar engines, knows how to correctly work on diesel engines, I would like to add his shop on the YTOG for overhaul repairs. You would be surprised at how few get it right every time.
Switch to direct wire LED T8 and ditch the ballast. Run both bulbs in parallel.
You will have to change the ends in the fixture to math the bulb, but it's easy.
I run 4000k or less. There are 3700k and 3000k bulbs. I hate the higher ones over 3700k. I call them fake lights.
A PTO driven rotary tiller can in fact have hillers on their back end. In Asia, they do this. Here, very rarely.
Here is a Mitsubishi model from the early 80s.
Here is a Kubota demonstrating how these work. This model can move the hiller discs inwards or spin to lock into position.
This...
Thanks, that is a great find for the video. Even knowing there is a tool for balancing. I've learn more with this YT vid than many of the others.
His mods are very useful too.
I've watch 4 YT vids on it, even a H-F review person doing large truck tires.
I learned some tricks or home garage extra tools that make the chore less grunt work.
I do know the floor legs benefit from longer square tube extensions. I have 8FT of this already to cut to size it.

Keeping true to Yanmar's YM Series, the next YM generations does just that.

Anyone changed tractor tires with the H-F tire changer?
It's bad when replacing a tractor tire inner tube on the front wheels costs $60+tax+disposal fees at your local tire shop or farm store. This is no balancing, no thrills rim. I can buy tubes just about anywhere. Dumb locus...
Personally, I would be geared shuttleshift. The reason being, it works on all terrains vs HST not so good on hills or slight slopes and HST with loaders you go really SLOW.
Per the Fredricks UTDA agreement with Yanmar, they serialize the tractors on an ID plate riveted to the hood. I see the auction had S/N 2642. Are you saying you now own 2642 then.
Here is mine, 3661
I now wonder even more. Your machine has a lower S/N than mine. Did Fredricks do a buy...
I would of not bought the machine if watching the video prior to sale.

The oddity here? You bought a domestically sold tractor here.

Indeed go with a full rebuild kit. You will need to determine if oversize is needed.
If it did and the prior owner had aftermarket sleeves/liners placed in the engine, then yes, the OE rings would have an issue.
It is always best to buy a full matching rebuild kit. From a Yanmar...

Those were the first set of head bolts in the first engine. Some of those head bolts are bent. -Travis
Do you still have them? If so, please measure them like this drawing and tell us those values. Then it will be helpful to located replacements.
Going back to pg-4 . . . These are the 7X needed.
If I had a good Grizzly brand benchtop lathe, I could true these up and then chase the threads to correctly clean the threads.
https://www.grizzly.com/products/grizzly-7-x-14-variable-speed-benchtop-metal-lathe/g0765
I checked, they are out-of-stock or discontinued.
These threaded studs are popular in many YM machines, Deere machines, and Yanmar marine engines. Why are these not available anymore?
Travis, did you save the old bolts. I recall you were going to measure them for length and thread diameter awhile ago.
The reasoning was, you can nearly order these off McMaster-Carr as NEW.

The manuals are free on the YTOG.
Hope the fluid change for the Hydraulic was TF500A or Deere J20C. Otherwise, excessive wear and damages 'could' occur in the machine.
In SC right now, the engine oil would be SAE 30W. Just too hot down there.
Do not use 15W40 on this small machine either.

Most of these can interchange,
15-16-17-19-20-20C
and the 22-27 can only interchange amongst each other.
The choices are not all that good really.

Foxes are fine, unless you have chickens, quail, or pheasants being raised on the farm. 12 miles north of my place is a huge pheasant farm. These are raised for the cruise ships.
@Scotty Dive I too would echo Winston's observations.
Additionally, over time, vibration and sudden impacts from the wheel into the axle, you may need to take the area apart to examine flatness and surface-to-surface smoothness. Deburr any raised ridges of pushed out material.

Some other DIY ideas,
NOTE, Do Not drill holes into the ROPS. It weakens the structure and will void Fredricks warranty. Likewise, it will remove liability from any ROPS offering manufacture too.
Travis, when I got my YM2610, Fredricks has this tube on the side with the OPS manual inside.
Instead of the flimsy tube, what if you mounted a PVC one with end caps each side?
Even mount it under the floor!
For the YM2500, Travis found this in the YM2500/YM3000 manual. Held on with a single bolt. Not something I would like to have mounted that way.
IF you want a toolbox today, Yanmar still offers it! Ask for the YM336 toolbox...
Some models were given no tool box. Instead, the tools were wrapped in a roll-out pouch with two ties like shoe laces. I've hunted the web looking for such item, but not found. The Japan Tractor History Museum only mentions this with no images.
When you see a parts manual with just the tools...
As the YM machines grew in size, options and Hp, the tool box went from green to a durable red HDPE plastic.
Some of the YM1700 and higher models had these.
For the vintage Yanmar machines, YM, F and FX, a few different OE tool boxes were used.
The first Tree Frog models all received the flat green tool box type.
As the models were refreshed to Red Apple machines, the green tool box was mounted somewhere on the frame, under the seat of in the...

Some models have an access plate or remove a bolt to spray in there. Of course you are doing this blindly thru just a hole. Those old school Yanmar techs would know.
The YM2310 has item-5 as a Cap Housing, just like the YM226.
If you can remove item-5, you have access inside with a pen...
Last weekend switched to SAE 30W. Temps this week are pushing well into the upper 90Fs. It was so cool until this weekend. One of the coolest first half summers in a very long time here. It was rather very enjoyable.
So, is it possible for him to find JD750 4WD rims to bolt up then? I only found one thread for some time ago of a person doing this to a YM240D. Thus, it's a long shot.
I have not a clue if the bolt pattern is the same, nor even if the rim sizes for tires are the same, yet the 4WD of the...

Metal roofs for down conducts are done this way. I laugh when being inside a building with them as the whole place shakes violently when it takes a strike.
Yes, but the wire looks too THIN to really do anything. 6mm or 1/4-inch wire is NOT going to save the building from a strong violent lightening strike. 3/8 to 5/8 thick will survive multiple hits before needing a replacement. Think of the wire as a fuse. The thicker the wire, the more power...

I bet there are others with the same model as yours too!
From old postings in the YTOG archive (GeoCities 1996/Yahoo) up to 2019, using 15W40 has caused over heating retention and heads warping with gaskets blown. More often with the 2-cly engines. It does happen with the 3-cly engines too.
Both Deere and Yanmar point to 10W30 and SAE straight 30W...
As for red, Hoye and Fredricks have mentioned Massey Ferguson red is very close. It can be used for touch up. It is one pantone shade brighter.
There is another red one pantone darker and should match Yanmar red. Troy Bilt red.

The reason why I use Seafoam and/or Gumout Tune-Up. Whatever one is on sale at the time. The Gumout works a tad better overall. Diesel can have microbe build up in the fuel system. Even the metal fuel lines that can clog easily.
Glad you found something out your way. The YTOG doesn't list Arizona Tractor Sales due to a 50/50 split of pro and negative reviews from our members. It's a gamble. I would say for parts, they can help, for restorations and warranty of machines, not so good.
