CT230 Died suddenly, wont restart, no lights on dash, no headlights

The key was in the aux position. I touched the two wires, that I marked in red, connected to the starter and I heard a relay click. Everything is functional...!?! Now I can't recreate the failure.

CT230 Died suddenly, wont restart, no lights on dash, no headlights

I had been using my CT230. I was going to drop the bucket. I set the brake and jumped off the tractor, and it died. Nothing happens when I turn the key. Nothing on the dash turns on. The headlights won't turn on.

Narrowing the field of used field cultivators

I found an old row-cultivator and compressed it. I use it on my 30HP CUT. I need to get through an 8' door with it - I narrowed it down to about 6' but I left some extra main tube so I can spread it out more if I desire. My tractor handles it pretty well in our soil. It cost me $200, a...

Is it me or the 7TL design

My Bobtach assembly completely folded in half. I went to drop my snow bucket and pick up my bale spear and I found it bent. Last November I had the loader arm pin break for the Bobtach and bend everything Last winter I had the loader are end insert come off! Has anyone else had this kind of...

I folded my Quick Tach plate

I went to drop the snow bucket and put on the bale spear and this is what I found. This picture was taken after my failed attempt to use it as it was to pick up a bale. Note the off colored end to the loader arm - that's because a year ago I had one loader arm insert fall completely off and...

Wild Grape Vines are STRONG! - Near Miss

I was clearing the overgrowth along the fence-line. There were two grape vines that I couldn't quite pull out by hand so when I was at the point of moving the piles of brush with the grapple I first snagged the vines. It appeared that I would be better off grabbing them from the side and...

    Hyd driven post auger

Is my CT230 going to have enough hyd flow to turn a tac-plate mounted post hole auger? I have third function hydraulics on my FEL - I'm curious if anyone out there has tried this.

    Replacement 7TL Curl Cylinder

I broke the pivot point off the loader arm with a over-sized bucket full of snow. It twisted the other pivot and bent the rod.

    Replacement 7TL Curl Cylinder

I managed to bend a curl cylinder on my 7TL. Bobcat wants $900 to replace or $330 to replace rod and seals. Has anyone found a cheaper option?

    Loader  Shoulda boughta bigger tractor

I broke the swivel point off of my 7TL loader at the bucket end with the bucket full which twisted the other swivel. The swivel is a separate insert that is simply welded into place on the end of the loader arm. Bobcat can't get me a new swivel - outside of re-engineering/manufacturing the...

    TODAYS SEAT TIME

I can't find the origin of this phrase; for the most part I find it to be true: “There Is No Such Thing As Bad Weather, Only Inappropriate Clothing.” FYI: I cut the ears out of a bomber hat so that the "WorkTunes" ear muffs just fit.

    Best sub $2000 tree puller

I have a Jenkins Iron and Steel tree pulller. I paid $1200 for mine - but it was 5 years ago. Mine didn't have a brush guard - which I believe would be a big improvement. I only have a 30hp Compact utility tractor - but I have been amazed at what I can pull with it. My brother used it on his...

Rear Finish Mower  New to me Land Pride finish mower

I picked up an older, used, 3pt, finish mower. I was handed two spare tubes and one new tire was mounted - it obviously didn’t hold air in the tubeless configuration. I was so focused on trying to seat the new tire that I didn’t notice the rest of the tires until I got it home. The other three...

What size finish-mower for my CT230?

I have a Bobcat CT230 tractor (30hp engine - 22hp @PTO) I live on the sandiest soil I have ever seen other than at the beach, so the grass isn't very thick. I rotate pastures and after I move the horses to the next pasture I mow the remaining grass/weeds down to 4". I'm tired of bouncing with...

    Titan Tree Puller

I'm not sure what brand of puller I have - but I love it! For those wondering if their tractor is big enough - my 30hp with a breakout force of 1900# - with a bit of work was able to pull out this 8" tree. a couple key tips when pulling out something more than brush. Cut the top off so you...

Spreader  Minnesota 110 manure spreader; PTO help

I have an old Minnesota spreader that needs new U-joints in the PTO shaft. I haven't found a replacement yet. I would like to retro-fit with a new PTO shaft - but I can't figure out how the old one was attached, and there isn't enough shaft to simply cut it off and add the new - that would...

    Little Tractor - Big Bale

Bobbie couldn't lift it by itself. Actually, the picture with the bale in the air came when I pulled it off the bed of my pickup. The wife bought her lastest horse right after I told my brother that I didn't need the last two 1000# bales that he made for me. Based on the horses feed rate I...

    Starting at -10F

So I'm a bone-head and forgot to plug in my tractor in advance yesterday; I needed to put a new round bale in the feeder and was on limited time. I gave the glow plugs their due time and turned Bobbi's key, with each slow revolution of the engine I heard her mutter a distinct "F U"! Just when...

looking for help with my 7TL FEL Joystick

I was using the FEL and noticed that the joystick seemed extra sloppy. Then it went completely wonky! I have torn it apart and found that the back left gizmo that the joystick pivots on is loose. I'm assuming that I simply need a bolt in the bottom of that gizmo to make it work. I need to...

    What would you use?

Our horse paddock is wet to the point that there is a 5" layer of muck. We have been above freezing temps for the most part. Next week the bottom is going to drop out of the thermometer and leave us with an extremely rutty paddock that is very hard to walk on. In the past I have used my FEL...

    Tube to hydro cooler cracked/leaking

CT-230. There is a tube coming from the center of the tractor heading forward to presumably a radiator, I have replaced the o-rings and a couple gallons of hyd fluid... it still leaks. After more investigation I found a crack in the weld of the end fitting and tube union. What pressure does...

    Trying to find a post

A few months back there was a response to a post where someone broke down the "price" of a tractor. Something along the line of take the price you paid for the tractor + 50% of that price in implements + 100% of that price in a shed to store the tractor and implements, +... I would...

Loader  Blew the curling hard-line on my FEL

Definitely more my fault than the engineering... I was attempting to roll a huge pile of brush down a hill with my CT230 that I had no business attempting. I had a loonngg toothed manure grapple stabbed into the pile and I was trying to lift and roll with Gravity and the tractor pushing. The...
